The mental state of long term prisoners should be of serious concern by the authorities. I think long term prison sentences within closed high security prisons are inhumane. Just my opinion of course and I must admit I personally do not have any suggestions for an alternative?

Thank you, Susan :) Although as I still haven't heard from him, I'm currently unsure whether Jeremy has been too busy to reply or is merely ignoring me hoping I'll go away  ;D
I have never known Jeremy not to reply to letters.

I agree Grahame.  I was looking online the other day about the mental health of prisoners but it's hard to find anything concrete and clear.
I should think Jeremy Bamber must be stretched to the limit, institutionalised, desperate and however hard he tries not to be he must be full of anger.  Donn 'twonder he can flip, if that's what happened.  Personally I think people who support him should be aware this may happen and realise he is the one in the dreadful situation and not them.  Maybe that sounds harsh and I don't mean it to be but if he is innocent he has lost so much, it really is a living death.

Yes, we can only judge from our own situations I suppose. None of us can imagine being in a prison for years where your whole life is organised for you?

I think it's real and I think the D is the clue to who it is. Do not feel it right to post the name. I think woman write to him offer there help and then expect too much back. He is human like all  us and has the same emotions. Some good days some bad. Some woman come across as desperate and it's very off putting. How she can say she has seen nothing that proves he did not do it. It's the same as Jm  history repeating it self dumped and wanting revenge.

well what do they expect when they write to a guy in jail exactly.

Susan,,I'm sure that I read somewhere that CCRC were planning to accept,or not,as the case may be, the application ( new evidence ),on the 31st of this month. Why do these things take so long ?

Well yes,Grahame. I never actually thought about that, and should have realised that at the last count, there were about 700 applications. Plus their  finances aren't looking very healthy.

Every little thing we do, the things we enjoy, the stuff we hate, he doesn't have that luxury, he does as he's told.  If he's guilty it's still really tough but there is a reason and it's meant to be tough.  If you're innocent it's soul destroying every day I should imagine.   :-\

Not being able to just pick up the phone,as you do,and phone " so-and-so " to see how things are going,is another aspect of being imprisoned. The phone itself is like another person in your life. A means of contact.

The next step being the acceptance. Which is probably why Jeremy feels like he does, having been knocked back in the past. We all know what it's like waiting for important news !!
