I was casually walking around the marina there with my missus and they called the police because we were trespassing an' shit. Stuck up lot in that marina.

You should have reported them cuz that's like abuse and I'm not even telling lies!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Grahame

Is this the Marina at Tollesbury?  If so I visited on my recent trip.  It goes on forever and seems a mish mash of various entities. I would describe it as rustic ie it's not Puerto Banus.  Quite liked it though.  It reminded me of Whitstable where I do my windsurfing but not as nice as Whitstable.

Saw a sign for another Marina something beginning with H between Maldon and Goldhanger.  Didn't have time to explore that one.

Also I noticed driving from the East towards Tollesbury that the entrance to WHF/Pages Lane appears to fall within the boundary of Tollesbury not Tolleshunt?  I've noticed that round farms where I live that the entrance seems to fall in another village.  Perhaps boundary changes or that the majority of the adjacent land falls within a neighbouring village?

Hi NN I am just as confused as you are on those queries. A marina beginning with "H"? It couldn't be Heybridge Basin could it? I haven't noticed the boundaries between Tolleshunt D'Arcy and Tollesbury? I wonder if in the distant past they were toll gates into the different areas?

Unfortunately not, a call to the police at 3:37 doesn't give enough time for JB to be at WHF 11 minutes later.
As you acknowledged later, JB indicated the call duration was around 5 minutes, so a call made at 3:36 and ending at about 3:41 gives him enough time to arrive at WHF at either 3:48 or 3:50, depending on his speed and which log the arrival time is obtained from.

Grahame, I've always wondered why WHF was said to be in D'Arcy when it seems to be closer to Tollesbury.

It's just due to parish boundaries.

Not in the scenario that he then phones Julie, which he said he did because he was pissed at the police.

And it would be cutting it fine even without that.

I don't think it matters who he called first. I'd say he called Julie first but later realised that Jones was making an issue out of it so he said he called the police first.
