It wasn't a particularly warm night Susie, that's why Jeremy was wearing layers, it was cool for August, just Steve's poetic license 
It's possible what april suggested, it's possible he had an old pair and a newer pair, bit strange tho

Hello HMEssex  the trouble with this case we have so many myths and stories, destroyed evidence, cover up AE seems to have had a very active part in supplying her take on things but we don't know the truth only Jeremy Bamber was wrongly convicted and the scene was staged.

There is nothing else on the floor that could be described as 'canvas shoes' - I 'think' these are the items she was referring to and they are quite clearly men's slippers. They don't appear on the evidence list as either slippers or shoes?

Maggie steve had to have it a warm night as he states Sheila slept on top of the bed (her covers were not turned down) Jeremy had had a Radox bath (according to steve) after he murdered his family so probably cold when he went out so needed layers it gets better by the minute.

The picture isn't in the archives Maggie, I've just found it online. They must be the SAME shoes mentioned by AE - see the following .......
