Are you sure he had a defence Caroline? I have to smile sometimes when I look and see zilch from the defence...I think I heard through the grapevine that Jeremy'e defence didn't like him much...If this is the case then surely this could be a mistrial...Now I'm making it up as I go along, like you know who!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, I guess that's arguable but I do think Rivlin made a good job of discrediting Mugford, even the judge (who I feel was biased in favour of the prosecution because he didn't understand the blood in the silencer evidence!!), warned the jury about talking anything she said as gospel. Rivlin pointed out that when the defence asked her questions, she became weepy and emotional and it was difficult to get an answer from her but when questioned by the prosecution she was composed and answered with no problem!! (Rather telling I think!!).

Caroline, how very clever of her. She used the same tactic, in reverse, as I when faced with a podium, a sea of faces, and the direction to speak for two minutes about CRICKET!!!!! something about which I know precisely NOTHING. The starter bell rang and I said that, IMO cricket provided a perfect excuse for men to play with their balls in public. I wasn't able to say more because the audience spent the rest of the allotted time laughing. Julie's bawling (unintentional pun) PREVENTED anything from being said that she didn't want to answer.............IMO :D

Yes I have read that she was difficult to cross-examine which must have made it difficult for the defence at the time and somewhat frustrated the jury.   It was only fair that this was pointed by the judge..I have always believed that the jury did think her comments at trial were totally convincing..But did the judge also tell the jury that they must consider whether to believe Julie or Jeremy?   ;D ;D ;D ;D

well in those days excuseing a policeman of lying was seriously frowned opon.

becouse in those days policeman dident tell lies and to suggest they did was considered by many judges to be an outrages thing to do.

of course the case of the Birmingham 6 and Steven kisko changed all that.

So Jeremy went back to his car for a jacket did he? There may be an innocent explanation of course, along with the glossy brochures of luxury cars on the coffee table at Goldhanger. Blood was found in Nevill's car which was never explained. And of course Jeremy drove Police back to Bourtree Cottage in his own vehicle with an air of insouciance once that acting segment charade was over.http://jeremybamberforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,2220.15.html

My drawing room is frequently littered with brochures of 6* cruises, none of which I have ever taken. I simply aspire to the belief that it never hurts to reach higher. The blood, should there have been any, in Nevill's car may not have been explained for that precise reason. I also imagine that Jeremy drove the police back to Bourtree Cottage with an air of something less hot than that which you, on occasions, spout. :D

Yes Caroline although August.it was cool and Jeremy had been harvesting all the day before, he must have been tired and cold. Nothing sinister in that.
