Personally I believe this decision means nothing realistically regarding Jeremy? Those in charge can bring up any excuse or some discrepancy so that he still may never be released. Look at the case of Charles Bronson. He is not on any life time tarriff and he is still in gaol. Why? Because the authorities deam him too violent to be released. They will make the same decision regarding Jeremy. So don't get too excited.

Lugg it is more positive than the news I heard at 6.30 on BBC1 where they said he had lost his Appeal.  At least he has some hope now which he did not have before. Jeremy is not a violent man and been a model prisoner so they can't keep him locked up forever he will be free at sometime.

Well, the parole risk assessment which assessors  the inmates 'dangerousness' is influenced by the inmate's confession, remorse and rehabilitation. So in essence, it serves only those that have confessed!!

Hi mertoll I agree with you and as far as I am aware the full life tariff was not given to Jeremy at Trial I believe it was a minimum of 25 years the full life tariff was added later what for I don't know.  At least Jeremy has hope now which he did not have.  I have a good feeling great things to come for Jeremy Bamber in the not too distant future.
hi all just come to had a bit of an eventful journey back and seen the news, at last something positive for Jeremy. That's what the European Court of Human Rights is for and why we need it, so some rulings are a bit strange but none of us know when we'll need it. Just sorry Jeremy's name had to be linked with some pretty awful people but of course others wont see it
that way........ it must give him hope, it feels so optimistic at last for Jeremy with all the work he
and the campaign team have completed and MDs book, not to mention Miss Caroline Marples work on palm prints and the 'blob of jam'.  Fingers crossed the tide is turning. ;D

Its true it wont really make any difference but it must be heartening for Jeremy to be on the winning side for once.

I was once granted parole by the parole board, whilst my appeal was pending on one matter, and I was remanded in custody on a different matter...

Mike  can Jeremy still try and get his case to the Court of Appeal and clear his name and be released.

Susan, thank God you were wrong!!! I heard the 11.00 news and they said the ECHR concurred with what Jeremy said. When I saw your post I thought they'd gone back on it.
