I reckon that Julie kept draining Jeremys' resources. That's why he had to look at other ways of earning enough to keep up with her tastes. She'd have been high-maintenance,,all or nothing. A drain.
Julie showed the signs by her thefts,,much wanting more.
No,the materialism came from Jeremy's side as attested by several witnesses. At one point in their relationship Julie asked:"Why don't you just walk away?" to which Jeremy replied "because I've got too much to lose". I think with the talk of Nevill being bought out and offered a considerable sum for White House Farm Jeremy didn't want his father having even more control, and he decided to cut and run.

Mugford clearly used info that she gained from the media and relatives to give her statements some kind of credibility. Entry and exit obviously came from RWB or AE. Her story regarding MM having allegedly told Sheila to lay down on the bed and shoot herself (as if) and then putting a bible on her chest came from AE. Alleged struggle in the kitchen involving Nevill came from pplice officers. She just didn't include anything that made her evidence plausible.

That sounds like a question that was put to Julie and the answer SHE gave!

Those words you have, so often repeated, may have less to do with materialism than simple statement of fact. Jeremy may well have been instructed at some stage, as was I, that if he followed the proscribed road and chose to make farming his life, he would inherit lock, stock and barrel. FACT. Whilst nobody is suggesting that, under other circumstances, he would have chosen to farm, there were numerous compensations. Superficially, unlike Julie, Jeremy had it all. It was Julie who was materialistic. Julie wanted what Jeremy had. Julie determined to be young Mrs Bamber. If later pictures of her are to be believed, Julie wanted to display to the world, that she too, had what Jeremy had. Not walking away "because I've got to much to lose" says much more of Julie's position than Jeremy's.

Agreed April.  I wonder what she was most put out by the loss of JB, sharing his inheritance, her pride?

Hiya, NaNu. I've been sitting here looking at your post for several minutes weighing up the options before committing myself to print.

When I thought about pride, I found myself wondering where hers was. She seemed perfectly prepared to hang on to Jeremy despite knowing that his mother, possibly even the wider family, saw her as a "harlot". She must have swallowed her pride to have coped with that but perhaps she was driven by the thought of how her life would be when Jeremy came into his inheritance and how it would be compensation for being looked down on. So she put up with the humiliation for what? Jeremy dumped her. Her hopes of being a rich wife were dashed. How angry might that have made her? I think it was loss of Jeremy's inheritance which hurt her most, which is why she appeared so happy to flash flesh when she had a cheque for £25,000.00 in her hands.

I think Jeremy was coming to his senses, gradually,,and said half the things to see what sort of a reaction she'd give. He was testing her out,,and maybe began to see through her and gathered what kind of a person she really was. Shallow.
