 The story is, He was fitted up as a hitman in a Hertfordshire Murder. He has spent 18 years in Jail protesting His innocence. The two original suspects were subsequently jailed for murder in 2003 ? His legal team have lodged an appeal with the CCRC ( third time ) and this one is going to be heard by the Appeal Court. There's bent police involved, check out the Kevin Lane campaign site, this is another Miscarriage of Justice, and may get quashed...........

 The interesting person in this is Roger Vincent, the original suspect. He was jailed for life for killing David King a drug dealer with a Kalashnikov rifle outside a gym at Hoddesdon ih Hertfordshire...

 The policeman who led the case against Kevin Lane, Detective Inspector Christopher spackman was jailed for four years for trying to steal £140,000 from Hertfordshire Police which had been conficated from drug dealers. Red alert wasn't ACC Simpson originally from Hertfordshire. Oh the operation was called Cactus.......  Oh, this one little detail might be of interest there was PII used to withhold evidence from the defence about Spackman's relaitionship with Robert Vincent at Kevin Lane's trial where He was found guilty. Vincent is also has also tried for an appeal against His own 30 Year life sentence.

well if the investigating officer ended up in prison you can hardly have much faith in the conviction being safe.

That's a very interesting link nugnug. To imagine that the CCRC never carried out one enquiry in regards to the accusations of police corruption and then to reject his application for an apeal is a positive disgrace to my mind and should be so to any other decent citizen in the UK.

so i cant see how this conviction could possibly be described as safe.

Campion said that this can also affect the Bamber case. Because it begs the question whether that which is being held under PII is really Public II or if it is rather POLICE II?
