Ive seen plenty of grieve and nobody went away on holiday to get away from it all.  most grief needs to be taken  head-on
My mother didn't take it head on. She did get away from it.

Rather sweeping statement, that, BG. You should try a stint of grief counselling. Most prefer to believe it hasn't happened in the early stages. It's a form of self protection.

My mother had a nervous breakdown as well. Took months to get her to acknowledge what had happened.

It wasn't my job as a grief counsellor to tell people what is/isn't good for them. Everyone must be allowed to do what they feel is best for themselves.

Perhaps not but everyone handles grief differently. There's no right or wrong way.

Nothing odd about that,BG. I flew to the other side of the world when my husband died,,,,though it was spur of the moment as I was still grieving. It's just that feeling of getting away from it all. Nothing sinister,,,nor did I murder my husband. You don't have to have committed murder to get away you know.

I am sorry to learn your husband passedd away, it must have been hard on you.
