I wonder what he would have made of Bruckners journal entry when he talks about abducting small girls after sedating them with ether.

He thinks there is a lack of congruity between headline claims about Bruekner and Madeleine, in comparison with the info subsequently provided by the German prosecutor. He thinks it's another dead-end investigation.

He would have a slam dunk libel case if this was a fabrication.

Claude on the evidence against Brueckner.

"Here's a comprehensive summary of all the evidence against Christian Brueckner in the Madeleine McCann case:

## Location & Timeline Evidence

**Phone Records:**
- Brueckner made a 30-minute phone call from 7:32pm to 8:02pm on May 3, 2007 - approximately one hour before Madeleine disappeared (between 9:10pm and 10pm)
- The phone number used by Brueckner was connecting to the cell tower mast belonging to the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz, placing his phone at or near the McCann's vacation apartment
- The call was made to a phone registered to Diogo Silva, now considered a key witness

**Proximity:**
- Brueckner lived approximately 1 mile away from the Ocean Club where the McCanns were staying
- He worked as an odd-job man in the Algarve, reportedly burgled hotel rooms and holiday apartments, and was living in a camper van at the time

**Suspicious Behavior:**
- Brueckner's car, a Jaguar XJR6, was registered to a new owner the day after Madeleine disappeared
- The day after Madeleine's disappearance, Brueckner suddenly placed his Jaguar in someone else's name and soon after left Portugal and moved back to Germany

## Evidence Found at Factory Property (Neuwegersleben, Germany)

**Digital Evidence:**
- A hard drive containing photographs that German police described as "deeply concerning," which they say indicates Madeleine is dead
- More than 8,000 images and videos of Child Sex Abuse Material hidden beneath a grave for Brueckner's deceased dog Charlie
- Six USB sticks and two memory cards buried underneath the animal

**Written Evidence:**
- Stories written by Brueckner showing his obsession with abducting children, including one describing drugging a mother and daughter outside a pre-school and abusing a blonde four-year-old girl
- Records of Skype chats with other paedophiles where Brueckner allegedly stated he wanted to "capture something small and use it for days"

**Physical Items:**
- 75 children's swimming costumes at the Brueckner property
- More than 75 children's bathing suits, toys, small bikes, and masks
- Three unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and bottles of liquid believed to be chloroform or ether

**Vehicle Evidence:**
- Three girls' swimsuits were found inside an RV owned by Brueckner on the factory grounds

## Geographical Evidence

**Satellite Navigation Data:**
- Satellite navigation data seized by investigators showed Brueckner had repeatedly visited an area 35 miles from where Madeleine was last seen
- Photographs show Brueckner at the Arade Dam, 35 miles from Praia da Luz, where he is seen modelling a mask and even posing naked at the site, which was searched in 2023

## Witness Testimony

**Alleged Confession:**
- Former associate Helge Busching claims Brueckner appeared to let slip details, describing how she "wasn't screaming" during a conversation about the case
- An insurance document proves Brueckner was at a festival in Orgiva, Spain in April 2008 where he allegedly made this incriminating statement
- However, questions about Busching's credibility have been raised

**Ex-Girlfriend Statement:**
- An ex-girlfriend told The Sun that Brueckner told her he had a "horrible job to do" in Praia da Luz the day before Madeleine disappeared, saying "It's a horrible job but it's something I have to do and it will change my life. You won't be seeing me for a while"

## Criminal History

- Brueckner has multiple prior convictions for sexual offenses, including against children, and a long record of petty crimes
- He worked in the Ocean Club as a pool boy and knew the area very well

## Important Caveats

Despite all this evidence:
- German prosecutors have stated they haven't gathered enough direct evidence to charge him under German law, which requires a higher threshold and doesn't admit circumstantial evidence in the same way as UK or US systems
- German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters stated authorities have findings suggesting Brueckner is responsible, but acknowledged they have insufficient evidence to convict him
- Brueckner has never been charged in connection with the case and consistently denies any involvement
- He was released from prison in September 2025 after serving a sentence for an unrelated rape"

Just a few things here to query initially.

There is no phone mast belonging to Ocean Club.
The claim that evidence exists to show Maddie must be dead cannot be accurate. This is a large part of the incongruity.
Given the list you have provided above, why are the McCann's not screaming from the rooftops about Bruekner?
Why has Operation Grange not taken up the mantle from the German prosecutor, who couldn't get Brueckner charged?

Scotland Yard want to interview him but he is refusing.

“We can confirm that this individual remains a suspect in the Metropolitan police’s own investigation.

We have requested an interview with this German suspect but, for legal reasons, this can only be done via an international letter of request which has been submitted. It was subsequently refused.

In the absence of an interview, we will nevertheless continue to pursue any viable lines of inquiry. We can provide no further information while the investigation is ongoing.”

According to Claude

"Germany requires prosecutors to gather sufficient direct evidence before charging someone, setting a much higher threshold than UK or US systems where circumstantial evidence and a 50% likelihood of conviction can be enough"

The McCann's seem to be unrealistically hopeful that Madeline is still alive. They don't want to believe Bruekner killed her.

I think you are being generous towards the McCanns here.

Hyatt claimed he followed the practice of 'believing someone until they talk you out of it'.  He claimed it was very easy to recognise that the McCann's from a very early stage, had come to terms with the death of Maddie. Amaral also did not feel that they behaved like parents whose child had gone missing. Ex-cop Jon Wedger and the other body language expert (whose name I also posted up) also separately made reference to Hyatt's work in this case. I'm not claiming he is infallible - but he worked with police authorities in the US.  Both Hyatt and Wedger were trained specifically in the area of child abuse. Wedger has investigated paedophile rings.

Hyatt was a guy with a website spouting junk science.

Not sure about that, but he was applying a tried and tested technique that he himself did not originated. It came from Israel. Pretty sure he achieved successes when assisting law enforcement in the US.

Not true. Nor is he an expert witness.

I don't think he was a nobody. He started out as a social worker.

Avinoam Sapir is the name of the Israeli I think.

Is the net closing in on the McCann's?  I don't mean this in a vindictive sense. It's just how it feels. The scam no longer has any legs.  It's been ran into the ground. I don't believe we will get any body language experts or statement analysis experts to support a case for the McCann's being genuine.  Who will go against the grain on that score?

Jon Wedger claims that Colin Sutton turned down the offer to lead Operation Grange because the remit excluded any further investigation of the Maddie's parents.

I believe that once the British state has decided something, it will never back down. And I think in that sense the McCann's will always be protected.

Not really constructive David. Two of the three people I have referred to are experts in either social work or investigative policing - and both have specialisms in understanding and working with child abuse victims and perpetrators. If we class Sutton as a fourth person, I accept this only a 3rd party anecdote.

And like with most of what you cite, its misleading and not accurate.

"Jon Wedger claims that former Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton initially made comments in a documentary suggesting the Metropolitan Police investigation into the Madeleine McCann disappearance was too narrowly focused away from the McCann parents, but later stated his comments were edited badly to appear more critical than intended."
