Maggie, I don't think that "taking him on" would have been part of Sheila's thought process. It would have been more about defending herself from whatever she imagined he was trying to do.
Hi April, That's exactly it. I cannot imagine anyone 'takiing on' Neville with an Anchutz rifle, he would have been a force to be reckoned with,. anyway, if Sheila's fingerprints were on the 12 bore sgotgun, as stated as fact by Scott Lomax, what does that mean?....apart from the obvious of course!!

Maggie, that is assuming that Sheila was aware that what she held in her hand was an Anchutz rifle and not something conjured up by her thought processes.

I am agreeing with you April. I believe that Sheila killed Ralph in a state of psychosis. Otherwise neither she nor Jeremy would have contemplated trying to kill him with a vermin rifle.

That bit doesn't make sense to me either. Planning a 5 fold murder with a tiny .22 rifle? Doesn't make sense. Jeremy is said to have been a "crack shot" by some. Well that means that he knew that a .22 rifle could never be a sure thing to kill anyone. Nah! I don't buy it that he did it. More like a mentally unstable person in a rage to me.

The power of a .22 bullet should not be underestimated. Some 22 air rifles come under fire arms act.
A .22 is capable travelling a quarter of a mile or more.
What is strange is that some of the bullets were whole when they were low verlocity hollow point.
Hollow point ammo is designed to mushroom on impact to cause maximum damage, and nearly always fragment on impact.
I can assure you that a headshot with a .22 will kill.
I notice the police never mentioned it was hollow point ammo, or if was the type of ammo that was tested.

That may well be Buddy. But think about it. If Bamber wanted to kill 5 members of his family then he could not afford to underestimate it. He had to be sure and with a .22 pest control rifle he could not have. Also the whole thing was a shambles. It was almost certainly unplanned.

Exactly Graham. If Bamber wanted to kill.
Sheila was not aware, if you see what I mean.

Why was the whole thing a shambles? He had a Detective Police Constable fooled and two jury members. As Julie tells us he told her in her statement, the plan was foolproof..

I don't believe one word of JM's orchestrated statements Steve.

You have to ask yourself why Jeremy telephoned her three times within the space of a few hours,if she's so insignificant in his life at that point.

Steve, what will you do if she takes the deal on offer... and pulls the rug from beneath you?

Perhaps they were not fooled but were lead astray by the silencer evidence so called and a habitual lying madam?

She may well have a close circle of friends i will conncede that, she is  no role model , a role model is not a crook,
