Reader is right.Panic alarms are usually installed near the bed.I guess the logic is that a person/persons are most vulnerable whilst in bed,and intruders are more likely during the night.The actual whereabouts of the said "panic" button leads me to wonder if it was,in fact,a panic button at all? And even if it was,nobody knows if it actually worked. There is certainly no mention of it in anyones statements,and IF,as vic has told us previously,that the relatives believe that Nevill went downstairs (during the murders)to try to reach the "panic" button,then WHY did they not allude to this in their statements or at trial?
