Thankyou Steve for ignoring my posts. Never mind, we can see the significance of your tactics.
I trust you will play blind also on this consideration.(It is a diversionary tack, promoted by yourself-please note XiLi ). Has anyone seen or known of poor Taff Jones Death Certificate? No Inquest was held, it was claimed to be under PII. What about an autopsy report?
Does it not occur to anybody, that the plethora of information in the tome of DAVID SHAW, could have emanated from Australia, as per Reg Perrin, Lord Lucan , or indeed John Stonehouse- the run-a-way PMG

I never ignore anyone's posts and have answered yours, apart from wishing to speculate on the sexuality of Julie which I find distasteful. In the first telephone call(the tonight's the night call on the Tuesday evening) Julie was pleasantly tired after working all day in London and off her guard as to what Jeremy had in store. They both ended the call when the conversation had run its course.

No I'm like the cat with the proverbial nine lives and am currently on life number 6. I believe there was talk of a job at a flower nursery but Julie was not working there at the time of the murders, hence her returning to London on Sunday 4th August, and her surprise at seeing the bicycle at Goldhanger for the first time on the Saturday. Jeremy did not mention the reason you suggest for the presence of the bicycle there during interrogation by Police at any time as far as I can remember.

I'm not taking sides in the conflict Caroline but after the strike I'm afraid some in the hierarchy took advantage of their new-found authority and abused it with an air of insouciance and I think possibly DCI Taff Jones as representative of the Police took an early decision to go along with the well-to-do family of whom Jeremy ostensibly formed a part.

Steve? Wasn't it Stan Jones who went along with the family?

This is too complicated for me.  I do not know who anybody actually is.  I am only just begining to learn who is in the "Sheila is guilty" and who is "Jeremy is guilty" camp.  Funny how there is only two camps.  Is there no other possibility?

I thought Taff Jones fell off a ladder although I have seen some people think he was most brilliant policeman of his generation and was murdered by MI5, Special Branch or was it Aliens?

Now I have seen a draft of the David Shaw book but I think very one sided.  nothing to learn from it.

Too late for me, I go to bed - alone.  I am high maintainence and need my sleep.

Yes Caroline but he expressed an antipathy towards Jeremy from the outset, possibly not wanting to maintain the status quo as DCI Taff Jones did.

An exceptionally ambitious man IMO who used some unorthodox methods in his investigation of the case - like escorting JM and SB to the bank on his day off!

Of course but this was related to a 20 year old girl whose tabula rasa did not imbibe the full import of what she was being told. She had been initially swept off her feet in the early days with Jeremy wooing her with flowers, chocolates and the honeymoon suite at luxury hotels and had possibly built up a picture in her mind of Jeremy as her infallible hero. How could this man who had been so generous and loving in a way no other man had been to her(remember Brett described him as "a big softie")harbour such wicked thoughts? However the nightmare became a reality as Julie became swept up in deceit, the only way ultimately to extricate herself being to betray the only man she had heretofore truly loved.

I fail to see what "tabula rasa" has to do with any of this. JM had been born with it, as have we all, but having left that state it is impossible to return to it. Rather like virginity, Steve. Once it's gone, it's gone.

But she was a young girl from the north of England whom one could in no way describe as being well versed in London's ways. Here she was faced with a situation where the official verdict as recorded by a Police force was "four murders and a suicide",so what was the likelihood that one individual could overturn it?

What poppycock!!! She'd finished her school life in Colchester, a university town, an army town. Not in the same league as London, it's true but it provided for most tastes with clubs to suit all. From there she went to London and I feel certain that by the time she met Jeremy she had become VERY well versed in London ways. Certainly enough for her to shrug off the last vestiges of the "young girl from the North of England."

Why should speculation about Julie's sexuality be so distasteful to you. She seemed not to have your reserve. She quite unnecessarily introduced anal sex into her witness statement and I believe that you, on numerous occasions, have called Jeremy's sexuality into question.

As for her being "pleasantly tired after working all day(!)........." I imagine it may have had more to do with what she and her friends had been smoking before they retired to bed.

Come on steve she had lived in Altrincham Greater Manchester, i knew plenty from there way back  and they were hardly country bumpkins. It wasnt as tho she came from an isolated village.
She wasnt a stupid person, Goldsmiths was a good Teacher Training College so she had a brain.  Cant really understabd your point!!
Steve 5 people died.....she could have tried, at least she would have done her best. Maybe she was more interested in what was in it for her until she realised there wasnt anything coming her way from Jeremy.

Because she didn't take him seriously until it was too late, and under those circumstances why blight a life which since has proved how much good there is in her.
Unless of  course she is trying to atone for her past sins of putting an innocent man behind bars? Some people do this. They cram their lives with good works to give the impression they have a good heart. Jimmy Savile being just one example. Robert Maxwell being another, giving the impression that he was being generous by giving £1000's to AIDS organisations, whilst all the time he was robbing the pension funds of his workers.
