These three dodgy coppers, were at the heart of the cover up, having all played a role in concealing the true details relating to (a) the sighting of a person / figure at the bedroom window before 4am, and refusing to acknowlege that it was them who overheard the commentary given by raid team members about discovering two bodies upon entry to the farmhouse by the raid team, the body of one dead male, and the body of one dead female at 7:37am, which they relayed back to the incident room. It must also have been the occupants of CA07 who relayed key informat from the scene to the incident room before 7:45am, "a murder, and a suicide", yo enable "Linda" in the control room to contact DS Davidson at home and request him to come into the office, because police at whf were dealing with a murder and a suicide - if not, where did the control room obtain that key information from?

Bews, Myall and Saxby, manipulated the duties they performed at the scene from 3:48am, onwards, so as to deliberately deny Jeremy Bamber of the perfect alibi. For example, the figure seen at the bedroom window by Bews, Myall and Jeremy, before 4am, and the discovery of a live female body upon entry to the kitchen (7:37am), prove that Jeremy did not kill everyone as alleged by the prosecution, including Sheila, and he did not stage managed her body to fool the police into thinking, believing or accepting that Sheila killed the others, and then topped herself, Jeremy did not do that because Sheila was the figure at the bedroom window, and Sheila was the female body found alive (but presumed to be dead), and who's body ended upstairs on the bed, then the floor where PC Bird later photographed it after 10 O'clock...

Well Ralph's severe and numerous injuries preclude him from being described as a suicide.

Ralph's injuries are a bit of an enigma.  Is it possible Ralph may have fallen heavily on his face, you can do an awful lot of damage to yourself banging your face if you faint?  Just a thought. :D :-\

Maggie,,I think the injuries were caused by the rifle butt,,particularly if it was administered when broken, with its sharp edges.

From the information given to police by Jeremy Bamber, they had no reason to expect or find that Ralph had committed suicide.

When ND expresses to COLP that he regarded 'a murder and a suicide' as either one body or two, the raid team at the actual crime scene cannot be referring to Ralph as a suicide.  There must therefore be another person/body that is being referred to as a suicide.

The suggestion that through the window, Ralph's grey hair flopped forward made him appear female, does not explain how he could have been mistaken for Sheila Caffell (who hardly had grey hair).

The official version of events from the prosecution precludes June from being considered a suicide... because Jeremy Bamber portrayed his sister as being the crazed aggressor.

We are therefore left with Sheila Caffell as the likely female / suicide found upon entry.

Yes Lookout I know this is the accepted scenario but have seen some dreadful injuries from falling especially onto a stone floor or wall if you fall with all your weight behind you and Ralph was no lightweight. I remember a 17 year old fainting and falling against a stone wall.  She knocked all her teeth out and broke her jaw....just a thought, outside the box thought.   :) :)

I agree Roch, I wasn't suggesting Ralph committed suicide, that never entered my mind.  Just wondered if Ralph fell at some time due to his wounds and injured his head/face.

Maggie,,if the weight of Neville fell onto the concrete floor, there would have been more bruising on that side of his body, particularly the elbow/hip area as it impacted on the floor. Whether there were any more reports of bodily injuries I don't know. As you know,it takes little for an elderly person to bruise.

Hi Lookout, I didn't know that - do you know why?

Ralph dod not fall to the floor after police toppled his body from its seating position behond the internal kitchen door, his body ended up on top of another overturned chair with his head eventually placed inside the rim of the coal bucket - placed there durong the training exercise...

Any way...

We now know why the audio recordings obtained as a result of the open line phone link from the scene that was patched through to the control room using the 999 emergency system by the operator went missing, or was destroyed - since it would have recorded exactly what the occupants of CA07 overheard which enabled them to pass the contents of the message, from the scene to the control room, timed at 7:38am, "body of one dead male, body of one dead female, found upon entry"....

So one source of information corroborated the other - two bodies found upon entry, body of a dead male, and body of a dead female, a murder, and a suicide, all before 7:45am...

Amen.

Not much has been mentioned of Neville's scratch injuries to his face. We're these made a fingernails, if so, Jeremy's were very short however Sheila did have long nails. I think also that because she was the first suspect not much attention was paid to her hands and also she was thoroughly washed prior to post mortem, this would have washed away a lot of crucial evidence that could have pointed to her innocence or guilt.

Good point there, Keepers. I'm also inclined to think that male and female scratches are likely to look quite different because scratching is not generally a male form of attack, and whilst it may happen accidentally, because they are usually much shorter than female nails, are less inclined to leave the same precise marks as those deliberately placed by a female attacker.

What time did they request shutdown of the open phone line again? I know it was on a log posted up recently.
