Like I said is it not rather strange that the little girl was abducted, murdered and disposed of and its seems due to lack of evidence or lack of reporting that he managed to clean the scene and himself in the 18 hours? as they still have nothing to charge him with.

I suppose im being too early here at trying to make any sense of things like this that are so senseless until we know everything.

That's what I though nugnug...I find it strange! Also they were looking for a white/silver van/range rover.

They are applying to the magistrates for an extension which will of course run out tomorrow at 5pm and they wont be able to apply for any more time they will have to release him......

By the time she was been abducted, Bridger's kids weren't about and she was playing with a seven year old. I forget where I read/heard this though.

I think there's a lot more to this case than meets the eye, it feels personal to me. She went in his car two days prior, therefore he has an excuse for having her DNA in there...

And what if this guy isn't their man? I can hardly begin to think about that. All this time focused on one man and (seemingly) one man only...they must be pretty damn sure about him.

That's the problem. They're always pretty damn sure. Thats how innocent lives get wrecked and MOJ's come about.

I totally agree, although did the police name him or was it the media? Either way I don't agree with it.
My five year old has just woke up screaming after having nightmares about strangers as a result of our stranger danger talk today. It disgusts me that someone could do that to a child, and that my little boy and probably millions of others are affected by it too

Does anyone know if the childs' father has ever been mentioned.?

It said in an article that the mother and father of April had been at parents night on the night their daughter went missing, that's all I have seen about Aprils father so far.

It has recently been reported that the suspect Mark Bridger attended the same school parents' evening as April's parents in the hours before she was kidnapped.

He was at Machynlleth primary school on Monday evening where his Land Rover Discovery was reportedly parked in a one-way street, blocking in other parents.

I recall very clearly refusing a lift from a man when, at 5 yrs old, I was walking home from school. He was very persuasive but I carried on refusing. I was very polite, and as I'd been taught, I told him that I wasn't allowed to accept lifts from anybody.

By the time I got home, my mother knew what had happened. The man was our next door neighbour!!! and it would have been perfectly safe for me to have accepted the lift, but it had been drummed into me hard that I must NEVER, under any circumstances, get into a car with a man, and I was probably more scared of disobeying than of the possible consequences.

I'm inclined to think it doesn't matter if we labour the point hard enough to make children scared of getting into cars, even when it's a neighbour's car, if it saves their life, it has to be worth it.

I worry so much as to how these kids have been asked to give information.  Yes its important they provide information but its been reported that the children had told police the vehicle involved looked like a grey or light coloured van and that April has appeared to get inside "willingly".  This has now changed to a blue range rover, which is the vehicle the suspect owned.  Other article report that one of the children describes a car similar to Brigers but grey or light coloured van is not similar at all to a dark blue range rover.  I would have thought that children at that age would have known their colours.  All the press reports have been totally confusing, and the police statements make no sense either. I was hopping mad when I read the name of a child witness in the newspaper. >:(

Something, which the police are not revealing, has kept them focussed on this man and no one else, I sincerely hope they know what they are doing, and this doesnt end up with a murder conviction based on circumstantial evidence, an alleged murder with no body, and a family and a community left without knowing what happened to this little girl. :(

If the suspect was co-operative, it's at time likes this that a polygraph could be useful, IMO, as time is everything.

They now refer to April, as a body, but I refuse to give up hope that they will find her alive, but I admit that it doesnt look very likely as time passes. :(  If there is a god, please let her be found, if Bridger is guilty, I hope he does the right thing and tells all NOW, if Bridger is innocent, his life has changed forever.

This is every parents nightmare.  How the family are coping is beyond me. I hope they are being well looked after.

The police have recieved approxiamately 2500 calls, which are being sifted by 40 forces throughout the country.  Police said that all the information and leads they've received following April's disappearance is being investigated by officers.

Today it emerged that two children, aged 7 and 11, were almost lured into a car just 24 hours before April disappeared.

A man and a woman apparently tried to abduct the children in Minera, 60 miles from April's home on Sunday, asking them if they wanted a lift because it was wet.

Earlier this week police revealed they are looking into another failed abduction attempt just over two weeks ago in Aberystwyth, 20 miles away, involving a different type of car to the one said to have been used to abduct April.
