Metered call log information relating to whf, and 9 Head Street, Goldhanger:-

Police had / have access to the metered call log information pertaining to the telephone usage at whf (scene of the tragedy) and 9 Head Street, Goldhanger (cottage where Jeremy Bamber used to live). These metered call logs provide information about all calls made from the aforementioned premises, 24 hrs  (day/night). Information contained on / in these metered call logs, show at which period of the day calls were made, in the exact sequence they were made, and provide the actual duration that such calls were / have been made. With this in mind, it w/ is possible to establish whether or not a call was made to Jeremy's cottage (of very short duration) after a much longer call had been made to Pamela Boutflour by June Bamber. Police established that such a call had taken place at about 10pm on the evening of Tuesday, 6th August 1985, during which time June had expressed concerns about Sheila's behaviour, and June told Pamela that she wanted to speak to her about Sheila's odd behaviour on the following day. A call of longer duration was / is also recorded which appears to confirm that someone (Ralph Bamber) at whf phoned the police, and then another entry showing that the attack alarm was activated from the scene, which sent the police dashing to whf at about 3:35am. It should be noted that when the attack alarm was installed at whf it was set up so that if it ever got activated it would alert the police stationed at Witham police station for police stationed there to make an immediate response once the attack alarm was activated at the scene - this is in fact what did take place...

The metered call log from Jeremy's cottage, shows a series of cheap rate calls which took place between the cheap rate period of 6pm, Tuesday, 6th August 1985 and 8am, Wednesday, 7th August 1985. These calls include the one Jeremy made to his girlfriend Julie Mugford after he got back to his cottage from working on the farm on Tuesday evening, the call he made to Julie on the following morning, and then the longer call he made to the police at about 3:36am...
