I've seen a few mosquitos already' thanks for the warning. Planned a morning on the beach and back to hotel to lounge around pool all afternoon. Hoping to go to Inca on Friday. Took some fabulous photographs but but for some reason I cannot upload them from my phone. Just thought I'd let everyone know I'm OK Oh' and that there are new Maddie McCann posters up on the walls at 'Funny Bunnies' and neighbouring bars...

If you get the chance visit Port de Soller, you'll get some fab pictures there, and along the road to it.

Hi Bridget  I was lucky to visit Alcudia and most of Majorca before it was a commercial holiday resort it was beautiful especially Palma rather spoilt now but that is progress I suppose as they rely so much on tourism for a living.

Great' hope you enjoy your holiday in Alicanti as much as I've been enjoying mine so far. Weather has been / is glorious. I've been spending a lot of time down at the harbour in Alcudia, there's some fabulous boats moored up there...

Have a good holiday...
Thank you Mike. Have fun xx

Yes, it is on our list. We went there on another occasion when I hired a car, we went the long way round over the mountain roads. It was great driving on those winding air pin bends with breathtaking views, at least it was for me, it reminded me of "the italian job" starring Michael Cane. Although my family didn't appreciate it at the time because they said it scared them half to death. So, we are going back by a different route on Saturday (through the tunnel)...

We did exactly the same thing, and I know what you mean, some of it was terrifying! But well worth it (I'm jealous!)

Me too, although my first intro to majorca was Magaluf when there was still a gap between it and Palma Nova, if that gives you any clues as to how long ago it was! I've probably been 4 or 5 times now, twice to Alcudia staying at the Alcudia Pins.

Hi Bridget  I worked in the travel industry for many years so did my fair share of travelling most trips suppose to be educational (they were that alright) now I just stick to The Highlands of Scotland where I live part of the time but I have wonderful memories of the Spanish Islands

Mike, I'm SO jealous. Stayed in Cala D'Or numerous times. One of our favourite trips was to Port Soller, more French than Spanish, and taking the train up the mountain. A great way to experience coast and country. Other must do is to go as far north as poss and cross the mountain range(Tramentura?) which is like a moonscape.

Happy hols.

Hi Bridget

Were you on an 18 - 30's hol?  Did you visit the 'in' bar - Tokyo Joes?  :D 8)

I don't think we were on 18-30's but most people in our hotel were so we just tagged along on any of their activities we fancied. omg, Tokyo Joes... that's ringing some very loud bells - was that a sweaty kind of place where everyone danced on the low dividing walls if they couldn't get a spot on a table?

I've been there as a young'an.  Definitely a sticky floor.  There was a Club Banana and a Scamps also.  Great days.

Hi egap yes I was in Ibiza many years ago it too is a lovely  holiday resort.  The Highlands is a wonderful place to live the view from my house overlooks Ben Wyvis which is snow capped even throughout the summer and my kitchen window looks to the west my most favourite view.  I consider myself very lucky to live in two beautiful parts of the country.  Not into skiing myself more hill walking. The ski slopes in Scotland have become very popular so have the mountains like Ben Nevis for serious hill walkers.

Hi Rochford

I went skiing with the school a couple of times and started going regularly in my 20's.  However, before I went I had endless lessons and practice sessions at the dry ski slopes.  I'm not saying this is you but I find it most infuriating when guys, and it's mostly English guys, turn up totally ill prepared, often drunk or drugged up, have no technique and are a complete menace to all and sundry and then brag in the bar in the evening about all the black runs/skiing off piste.  Enough to turn a healthy girl  :-*  But I'm sure this isn't you  :)

I'm afraid you've collared me there.  They were school trips.  So my technique was definitely poor.  After going through the menace stage, cutting through families and smacking in to trees, I eventually got cocky enough to do the black runs / go off-piste  ;)
