A friend of mine had a strange story to tell me today. A friend of his had booked a hotel in Ireland for his and his fiance's wedding and honeymoon. The other day the manager of the hotel phoned him up and said, "Would you be prepared to move the date of your wedding?" Hid friend said, "Of course not. All the arrangements have been made and all the invitations have been sent out. Sorry, but it's impossible".
In a couple of hours the hotel manager phoned again. "If we paid for your wedding and all your expenses for new arrangements would you be prepared to change the date?" His friend again refused with the same comment that it was quite impossible. About half hour later the manager phoned yet again. "Have you got a mortgage" He said. "Well I don't know if it's any business of yours. But yes we have". The friend replied.
"Well" said the manager, "What if we paid your mortgage and paid for your wedding and all your expenses as well as your honeymoon?". My friend's friend thought for a moment, consulting with his partner and then he agreed to the arrangement. Next day he got a cheque through the post for £500,000 and it was signed, "Frank Lampard",
