Well all I can say is that he has made a massive contribution to the forum.  He has been solid at picking people off on details even though in a wider sense, I feel his take on the case is completely wrong.  I will always welcome his contribution to the forum.

I second that! Steve Augi is always welcome to demonstrate the weakness of the anti case here.

So, Hartley's a flat earther as well as a monkey hanger.

Go on then, I'm intrigued, I understand the flat earther comment, but what does the monkey hanger comment mean? I take it you are being racist because of my skin colour, wow, that's all I can say, sums it up really.  ::)

As I think you are well aware Hartley, it is  a reference to Hartleypool United and their monkey mascot H'Angus.

Hartleypool? What the heck does that have to do with me?

That's complete bollocks Neil, she's found me on Linkdin or Myspace and is calling me a monkey.

You know very well what Hartleypool has to do with you Steve.  Are you saying you have never heard of H'Angus, Steve "Augi"?

The original Anschutz rifle has not been tested.  It still exists, I believe in the Essex Police museum, so it would be possible for it to be examined.

The barrel does not have to be placed in the flame to reach the required temperature, although obviously that would be the quickest way to achieve the result.  Placing the end of the barrel in the oven or on a heated hob will do the job in around 5 minutes.

An Aga was not used in Arizona.  If the case is referred further tests are likely.

Thanks NGB,

Whether the end of the rifle barrel was placed in an oven on a hob or in the flame, on thing has struck me as the owner of a rifle - the application of gun bluing would imo be somehow affected by excessive heat.

So, test the effect of changes to gun bluing in excessive heat on a test rifle; and than see if the original Anschutz or Pargetters rifle show similar results!!

Do you know if a test to the gun bluing was carried out in Arizona; and do you know whether the original rifles in question could be examined to see if they show signs (to the bluing) of being heated?

Gun Bluing

Bluing is a passivation process in which steel is partially protected against rust, and is named after the blue-black appearance of the resulting protective finish. True gun bluing is an electrochemical conversion coating resulting from an oxidizing chemical reaction with iron on the surface selectively forming magnetite (Fe3O4), the black oxide of iron.

Are you going to let us into the secret?  Do you now accept that you know exactly what Keira was referring to?  Why did you feel the need to make an accusation of racism which you knew had no basis whatsoever?

I do not believe that a test to the steel bluing was carried out.  I agree that it would be useful for such tests to be carried out.

Hi All.

There is a forensic test done in America with the same .22 semi automatic....with moderator and without.

It was proven that the moderator was not present when poor Nevill received the three burn on his back.

The forensic team measured the wounds, which were circular in shape. They then tested the end of the barrel on pig skin, which is similar to ours, it is sensitive.

They concluded that a moderator was not used and, that the burn marks on the pig skin were conclusive
to the burn marks on Nevill.

I saw this in a documentary and if anyone wishes to see it...I will post it....:)

My opinion is that Nevill had the gun pointed in his back for a reason.....Was he forced to do something with the gun in his back? Make a phone call maybe?
