The kitchen is fine in the summer, it is large and well ventilated.  The Aga is electric, using off peak electricity and therefore heat is stored at night as in night storage heaters.  It has four ovens, two hobs and a hot plate.  We use it for most of our cooking but have a gas hob and conventional electric oven/grill for back up.

Sorted - we must swap recipes some time  ;) ;D

Ngb - whilst we are are completely off topic (and apologies to Roch).

With the impending CCRC decision, could you please give me your comments (as far as you are aware) on ;

1) Is this 3rd appeal setting a legal president?

2) If not, who else has submitted a 3rd appeal and what was their outcome?

2) If the CCRC decide to refer, based on the position that if they refer they will have considered all the new (and possibly some old) evidence with some scrutiny, will it be a rubber stamp job by the appeal court to free JB, or will the appeal court spend some time considering the CCRC's proposal, which if submitted would no doubt be on the basis that the case for JB looks strong?

Thanks

Nick - 1) If the CCRC do refer the case to the Court of Appeal I think it will be the first time they have referred a case twice.

2) The only other case I know of where this may happen is the Simon Hall case, where the CCRC are considering whether to make a second reference to the Court of Appeal.

3) The approach of the Court of Appeal will depend upon the response of the DPP.  If the DPP decides not to resist the appeal the appeal itself will be a formality.  If on the other hand the DPP resists the appeal the Court of Appeal will have to assess the evidence and consider all the arguments presented in detail.

One of the positive aspects of my refusal to pick on others regarding spelling mistakes is that others rarely pick on me in respect of my numerous spelling errors and typos...

I agree with you that websites do need proof reading. From experience when I have created my own websites it is amazing just how many spelling mistakes creep in. I used to get someone else to read the pages before I finally uploaded them. Believe it or not people DO judge the quality of a whole website on the strength of one spelling mistake.
