The keys to the farm house

There's been a lot of talk about the relatives going in and out of the farm.  David Boutflour and Ann Eaton went there on 10th August and found the silencer. How did they get in? That was three days after the murders, so had the police finished there by then? If so, the house must have been locked up surely. If not, then why would the police allow people to be tramping around in there?

In the back of my mind, I recall reading that there was a spare key for the kitchen door outside somewhere? Can't remember where I read that though.

And I read that Jeremy accessed the house after the deaths through a window to collect something he needed for his holiday.

Remember this was a working farm in the middle of harvest. There were employees of the farm who would have carried on working. Jeremy was also working on the farm at the time of the shootings.

The relatives were handed over the keys, by the police, on the 9th August, though I can't understand why the keys were given to them and not Jeremy (next of kin). It's also been established now that Ann & David didn't find 'the' silencer on the 10th August. There's a lot more on this subject /the silencers on other threads

I was also wondering why the keys were not given to Jeremy. He was the son, he was the one who should have the keys. Why give the keys to other relatives? It was nothing to do with them really.

I also want to know more about when this silencer was found, but as you say, there are other threads on it.
