You're probably right bob.  I think this behaviour is a pent up release after all of the concentrated abuse, bullying, sarcasm, tunnel vision, insults, viciousness, hatred, targeting etc etc that has come from the other place.  But I should now move on.  So I will.

Bob  - Did you ever read the posts on the other forum?  You are a reasonable person and you have presently your views cogently and clearly and without personal insults.  The Lamberton forum contained the most disgusting bullying and offensive material.  What is on this thread does not come anywhere close.  I can sympathise with those who want to let off a bit of steam following the closure of the other forum.  Having said that, this forum will remain one where all views are welcomed, provided that they are expressed in a respectful manner.

No I've not see the death threats - I'm surprised any of you bothered to go over there and read the stuff. Would it not have been easier just to ignore people that you had already decided were nutters?

Anyway, I've just done a bit of googling, and it looks like the forum admin tried to calm things down - he has a 2 week old thread asking how to control things better:

Although I find it a bit confusing as I was under the impression that everybody thought John Lamberton ran that forum but the wording of those posts don't seem to be his style to me.

Andrea - I really do not think anything could justify the threats and abuse of the most digusting nature directed at Jackie, Mike and others over there.  I accept that you were not responsible for that and you may not even have seen the worst of tyhe posts (which were removed following earlier complaints).  This forum would not tolerate what was a daily occurence over there.

I really would like to see posters who have left here returning.  This may provide an opportunity for that to happen.  We need a broad range of views to be expressed.

Bob  - It was John Lamberton's forum and he posted as himself and under several different usernames.  He was also one of the Admins (posting as such in the guise of a separate identity), though he did appoint three other admin/moderators.  The messages in your link are not from Lamberton.

Why would we want them back? Instead of crying crocodile tears over them why not concentrate on the good posters who are already here? Like ngb and Rochford and campion and Keira etc etc? Those who went to Lamberton's forum are only seeking those of their own ilk.

I haven't. May have done so as a joke. I don't want them if they have imbibed the memtality of that forum. If they return I'll just delete them. Shona has shown herself to be as disgusting as the rest.
