I can see what you are saying about a lot of the posters on proboards. But they themselves are in control of their own minds and therefore are as guilty as the rest of them. I simply do not have any time for them whatsoever. The proverb rings true that He that walks with the wise man shall himself be wise. But the companion of fools shall be destroyed. The choice is their own.
Let me just explain this proverb as some are such idiots over on the erm...the....erm ...the place where the pratts live.
It means that those who share their ideas with those who have wisdom shall because they rub shoulders pick up that wisdom and begin to use the same wisdom themselves. But those who mix with fools and ignoramuses and those who will not learn etc, like those over in that shit hole of a forum whose name escapes me, will by association become like them. Like Shona apparently who according to some is becoming very abusive towards this forum. Well that's what it means. But if that's what they want, then it's their choice.
I don't even pity them. I read the link to the place and I had to have a bath a suck some mints because of the bad air over there.
I feel that it is important to emphasise this. Because people are more prone by nature to pick up on other folks bad habits rather than their good ones. The reason being that it is easier to let go, break down and revert to our base thoughts and feelings than it is to build up, to cultivate and develop good habits. That which is worth it always involves hard work.
So it would be very easy to follow John with his proneness to hatred (poor chap) and in time become like him in spouting abuse about people he doesn't like than to cultivate a spirit of love and understanding and wisdom.
He boasts of a forum that doesn't have any quarrels etc. That is because everyone who frequents his forum are just the same as him. They deceive themselves that they hate injustice and abuse. But in reality that is what they are doing for most of the time towards all those who don't share their own views and who do not frequent their forum. Unfortunately Shona wasn't aware of the abuse that she came in for when she wasn't a member there. But of course it has all been deleted so she is none the wiser. (I pick out Shona because I have seen a change for the worse in her character) So I really do think that it is bad policy for anyone to attach themselves to that forum. For the actual words of that Proverb, "shall be destroyed" mean that they will ultimately destroy themselves and their own characters so that they will not only not want to know the truth. But will be unable to.
