Well at just a guess I should think that Jackie is pissed of with my latest decisions? And as regards Hartley, he told me that he was going anyway. Ah! It's a lonely job being a moderator.

 :D - having recently been on the blunt end of a jackie movement, I believe that Grahame having been fair to me over this issue, resulted in Jackie getting even more piss*d off.

I may be wrong over the point above, but Jackie just totally misinterpreted a post from me (Interviewing Bamber in Jail Reply # 36 and that was it - the emotional powderkeg went off  - see Reply # 27 for the start (that is if your interested  )!

As far as Hartley is concerned he has on several occasions deleted his profile and after an interval rejoined.  I suspect that at some stage he will rejoin.  The only effect of this is to make it harder to search for posts.

As far as Jackie is concerned I do not know why she has deleted her profile.  It may have had something to do with the exchange of posts yesterday morning but it may be unconnected with that.  I do think we should bear in mind that Jackie has been the subject of some very nasty personal attacks elsewhere and this must take its toll.  Jackie has always used her own name and has fought vigorously for Jeremy so the attacks on her have been particularly hard.

I do appreciate this Neil. But I cannot be other people's consciences. I can't always be aware of what other forums and facebook pages say about her and us in general. I find it very difficult to moderate this forum and do try and be objective about most things. I'm not perfect by any means. If I judge in favour of one then another will be offended. If I judge the other way then another gets offended. When I fail to ban someone who someone else thinks I should I am still in the wrong.
So I judge how I see fit. eg: When the other day I judged in favour of Andrea Jackie contradicted me on one thing I mentioned in passing and she told me that we will have to agree to differ. When in actual fact I wasn't judging on that issue at all. That was not the reason I judged in favour of Andrea.
Sorry if it offends some. But I am endeavouring to judge rightly. I will just have to try and live with the consequences of those decisions I make and unfortunately so will those who I have offended. But folk must do their bit and not push these decisions onto me always. They should be big enough to keep their own feelings in check.

Grahame  - I was not in any way criticising you.  It is very hard to make decisions and whenever action is taken or even if no action is taken following a complaint an individual forum member may feel aggrieved.  It is often a very delicate balance.  I think you would agree with me that we have tended to moderate the forum with a light touch, tending not to intervene save in exceptional circumstances.  I think that is probably the right approach.

It's a shame that many of the pro-boards posters either by default or design, have found themselves enaging in abuse towards Jackie.  I do not believe that it would be the natural thing to do for some of them.  But the abuse has become so ingrained over there now, that other more benign posters are swept along with it.  I think that upon reflection, some would not be proud of becoming involved in what is essentially nothing more than sustained bullying against an individual.  It's only fair to point out that the flip side of the coin is that Jack does get in to scrapes.

I can see what you are saying about a lot of the posters on proboards. But they themselves are in control of their own minds and therefore are as guilty as the rest of them. I simply do not have any time for them whatsoever. The proverb rings true that He that walks with the wise man shall himself be wise. But the companion of fools shall be destroyed. The choice is their own.
