Personally I think he is completely isolated and living in a bubble. He has no experience of the modern world.
I think you are partly right on that one. I can't imagine how anyone could survive being in prison for so long. He must be completely institutionalised and looks at the world as if through a crack in the fence. With a lot of contradictory things coming at him from different people it is a wonder that he still trusts anyone?

As an example, Jeremy has never been on the internet, in fact we were still with amstrads, spectrums, commodore 64's and Amigas back in the mid to late 80s. Can you imagine trying to explain how things are now to somebody who has no practical knowledge.

What do prisoners have access to?

I know that they dont have internet, what about newspapers? Are they censored to remove articles on paedophiles, incase one gets shipped to their prison?

I remember someone a few years ago who was released from prison after many years. He wanted to go back inside because he couldn't cope with the outside world. If Jeremy did get out he would need constant supervision. There is practically no help available for ex prisoners.

Yes i know they have tv and radio, i thought lifers might have been allowed internet access, obviously not.

In some prisons the status of the prisoner will determine what they are allowed.

Like a prisoner on basic wont be allowed a telly.

As a completely irrelevant story, but I did some charity work in Haiti, clearing rubble and constructing temporary shelters, people had pretty much nothing, we got a lot of attention, we played CDs whilst working and when a Michael Jackson number came on, the locsls went wild, they loved and adored him, like a god, the guy I was working with shouted out, 'you know he's dead don't you?'. They had no idea, no information had reached them, grown men who worshipped him as a god were in tears, it was a very strange experience.

Not that it has anything to do with the case, I'm just rambling again.  :-[

Wow thats quite sad, were they cut off from the outside world because of ghe earthquake and what means of communicating they had destroyed?

But it is good to know something about your life outside this forum. It is like I said, we only have two dimensional images of one another and that we are completely different people that that which we knowingly and unknowingly portray ourselves  on the forum. That was a very worthy work that you did Hartley. Respect.  :)
