Patti, hi, according to a book I read once, Jim Bell was a farmer, married, for a second time, to a very much younger wife who, for reasons best known to herself, took herself and their baby daughter to live with her parents. He found out where she had gone and went there armed with a gun. He shot her and then turned the gun on himself. The child survived.

Hi Maggie :) I thought it was in Essex? Lol.....I'm going mad hahahahahah

I can only find that he was a clay pigeon shooter and, that he shot his wife and then himself in Coggeshall....I don't know where that is, I thought it was 2 miles from Tolls....I guess I am tired today.

Oddly enough I do find a marriage between a J Bell and a Russell in 1983? but I feel this may have been a 2nd marriage...I'm going crackers....ignore me... :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D

According to Peter Healey Jimmy  Bell was an unpredictable and violent character.  Peter Healey claims he was in the car park and experienced the incident when Jimmy Bell threw the bullets at the land rover with Ralph and June Bamber in it and told them next time the bullets would be in the rifle he was holding, a .22 with a silencer.  Peter is a spiritual healer and lives in Tiptree.

Patti, I think it was his second marriage.  I have to go out in a minute but will put some more info on forum later unless blodwyn beats me to it as she has the same book.

Keiria, I would double check that is I was you...Look at the death record for 1985 Colchester and you will see the age born is 1911. If this is the case then he was an old man...Have a look, let me know what you think.  :) :) :) :)

I'll have to check it later, Patti, as I'm off to a protest group meeting shortly. There were a few elderly James Bells who died in the Colchester district during the relevent period.

Yes, Patti. Coggeshall in Essex was where Jim Bell lived and the shooting took place at his inlaws' Norfolk home. In the 80s there was a whole rash of murders in and around Coggeshall. It was suggested that it had something to do with ley lines. Another book pulled the Bamber case into it and created a triangle, as in Bermuda!!!! Make of it what you will!!!!!

campion knows about that incident I think? I think Bell accused his wife of messing around with an American airman. He then put a toilet seat around her neck and paraded her around the street with a notice which said "whore" on it.

That is it Keira the one in 1986, it happened a year after the murders at white farm. I don't think there is any connection....but he did marry a Russell....in 1983.

The incident sheet is Alan Russell Fraser-Bell...However, the incident sheet, does type up the name Russell in capitals...could it be a triple barrel name?  He was from SA though and I don't think there was a connection....there is no birth for him or marriage that I have come across....could even be a false name....lol  :) :) :) :)

I'm going to be late!
