I've often wondered that once the inquest had been passed, if any untruths about what actually took place had been accepted in that inquest, then the matter becomes extremely serious for Essex Police officers involved.  What may have began as an 'in-house' manipulation of events, becomes a potential nightmare, once that manipulated version has been unwittingly sanctioned by a coronor.  It's like raising the stakes.  Do you not think that this case all along, has been all about a successive raising of the stakes and that with each rise, the consequences relating to any potential exposure become more dire and net more officials further up the chain of command.  Is this not how officials get locked in to what might be later termed as a 'conspiracy'?  Nobody says "hey! let's  have a conspiracy!".  It is merely the consequence of a chain of events whereby it is decided that the best course to take is the one of concealment / damage limitation.  I therefore think it's facetious to mock the defence arguments by using the term 'conspiracy'.  But I do admit that it's difficult to comprehend that nobody has had the moral courage to come forward (officially).

May I suggest that if Ann Eaton saw Sheila on the bed that it is potentially a criminal offence if she witholds that information?

She never saw any of the bodies in the house, she was told by a police officer that she was on the bed, but has since conveniently, or inconveniently forgotten which police officer it was who told her.

On a side note, Julie also states that she was told by Jeremy who was told by Mathew, that Sheila was on the bed in her statement of 08/09/85.

Thanks for clarifying that Hartley.

Just to recap the now known and established facts - DC. `Mick`Clark was the police officer who told Ann Eaton (according to another version of her statement) that the bodies of June and Sheila were found on the bed. He broke the news to her after he went with Jeremy from the scene on the morning of the shootings, for the purpose of taking a witness statement from jeremy. Therefore, if Jeremy said anything at all to JM about Sheila`s body being on the bed, it could only have been as a result of Jeremy being told or overhearing DC Clark speaking to Ann Eaton about it? Taking the matter a step further, all this nonsense about somebody named `Mathew` telling Jeremy that Sheila`s body was on the bed, well according to the police who forced their way into the farmhouse, Sheila`s body was found on the bedroom floor with the gun atop it - so, if there was a hitman, why would he be telling Jeremy Sheila`s body was on the bed, if it was not on the bed, but rather it was on the bedroom floor? Yet even more bizarre, if police originally did find Sheila`s body on the bed, why are they maintaining they found it on the bedroom floor? Seems to me, that JM simply manipulated details she overheard when DC Clark informed Ann Eaton, and Jeremy, about Sheila`s body being on the bed, or she twisted the truth about what Jeremy actually said to her about it? The main thing to bear in mind is that on that first morning at Jeremy`s cottage, there was information which Ann Eaton says a police officer told her, that Sheila`s body was found on the bed, it was not Jeremy telling JM that `Mathew` told Jeremy the very same thing, who in turn told JM about Sheila`s body being on the bed, if it was not?

When relatives found out police were saying neither the bodies of Sheila or June were found on the bed, and they learned that the Coroners court had been inadvertently been misled about where Sheila`s and Junes body had been found, it provided the relatives with ammunition to force the police to start a new investigation with Jeremy as the number 1 suspect...

Utter piffle, how the heck is that you know anything about what people were thinking?  ::)

Now I'm playing games.

Robert Boutflours rambling notes basically confirm that he and some of the other relatives knew they had been lied to blatantly by the police prior to JB's arrest.  That clearly gave them some leverage.

Of. Course I do know what the relatives were thinking at each crucial stage of the investigation, since I have copies of all the handwritten notes which Ann Eaton wrote down her thoughts, and the thoughts of the other relatives on a daily basis, so I think that entitles me to say or claim that I do know what they were thinking an d getting up to on a daily and sometimes hourly basis...

So...

You play all the games you like, but in this instance it is/was your own piffle you were/are referring to, so once again you end up with egg on your face, or more to the point, you appear to have shot yourself in the foot (again)...

Oops...

No Mike I haven't, you state something as a fact when it is no such thing. It could be your opinion, or somebody else's opinion, but it is not a fact. In fact the relatives will tell you a very different chain of events.

Would you like to borrow one of my eggs? Stating that someone has egg on their face or have shot themselves in the foot doesn't make it so. In fact it's completely not the case at all, who are you trying to convince, me or you?  :-\

Hartley you state things as fact when you dont know they are just like the rubbish about Jeremy and the court appearance about caravan shares
Another bit of utter piffle
Another bit of speculation cooked up around the table at WHF

Yes, I'll borrow some eggs and save them for later and give them back to you because you'll be needing them, How come relatives didn't officially and openly get all irate when they found out that the bodies of Sheila and June were not found on the bed, like DC Clark had told Ann Eaton? How come they didn't piece this discrepancy, with the other one concerning how many times the victims had been shot - at first police told relatives that all the victims had been shot just the once, and when that news was broken to the relatives all they kept saying was that Sheila was not such a crack shot and that she could not possibly have been so accurate a shooter? Then when they found out a total of 25 shots had been fired, they were saying Sheila could not have loaded up the gun with all those bullets, and that she could not have done this or that or whatever? Rather than go after the police fir lying to them and deceiving then into thinking the police were trying to hide and conceal something connected with the deaths, what do the relatives do, they suddenly turn their attention and focus upon Jeremy, and they leap on the band wagon by claiming Jeremy killed Sheila, and it was Jeremy who had killed and stage managed Sheila;s body in the bedroom?

Tell you what...

What would the relatives have said if they had been told there was some discrepancy about where the bodies had been found inside whf when the police forced their way in?

How would the relatives have interpreted the contents of the police radio message log contents (two bodies downstairs and three upstairs) as opposed to the statement version of events where they only had one body downstairs, and four bodies upstairs? For some reason, although all these discrepancies existed, the relatives choose to ignore them, and instead they went onto target Jeremy as their number one suspect. Whilst in the mean time, all the evidence like this we have been talking about was being deliberately withheld from Jeremy, his legal team and the court which tried the matter...
