On the subject of the Queen Mum, an article about the BBC's completely useless computerised subtitle service stated that when the announcer stated at the QM's funeral that there would now be one moment's silence for the Queen Mum, the BBC subtitles translated this as:

'There will now be a moment's violence for the Queen Mother'

Now that is very me. I rather think the old QM would have loved that too.

That's brilliant!! Jeffrey Bernard always said that when he died,the QM would probably die on the same day, and steal his thunder. He was almost right, it was Princess Diana.
