Oops, you did it again....
« on: September 13, 2011, 12:19:AM »
Grahame, you've locked another thread, so that you can be rude to me (SHUT IT) but I can't respond. I am not "on your back" if I think you're being fair, which on the whole you are, but surely I am allowed to debate? You can't treat people like this. Mike never did.

It was not a debate. It was a slanging match. I wasn't about to stand by and watch folk tear each other apart. What I did was bring order to the forum. You wouldn't say to a judge when he calls the court to order, "Stop treating us like children" would you? Of course not. I'm not treating anyone like children. I'm trying to bring order out of chaos. And you aren't helping by questioning everything I do.

I DO NOT question everything you do. For God's sake Grahame, I appreciate that you are in an almost impossible position, juggling plates, trying to keep eveyone happy, and trying to keep the forum on track. But sometimes it is obvious that you are biased. Fair enough. But Jackie can call someone a c**t and it goes unchallenged, yet I get banned becauseI object to one of your posts, and being told to piss off and play with my dogs. It was me that realised that Sheila's body obviously hadn't been moved if there was no blood on her face, which supports Mike having seen a photo of her on the bed, but you'd rather have a pop at me about something that has no consequence.

Well if its no consequence then why mention it? I knew it was a mistake coming back to this place. You'll be surprised just how much is done in the background. It doesn't mean we let some go and others we leave. In fact most people on here tonight both pro and anti bamber have said some disgusting things to one another. The words come to mind pot kettle black. The fact that you are engaging me now and challenging me shows you wont let things go. Every one I banned. There is shona criticising. Every thread I close. There is shona criticising. Every post I make about people's behaviour. There is shona criticising. Good grief leave me alone.

I wouldn't be at all suprised what goes on in the background. I am aware of how hard Mike works. What he doesn't do is intervene if a bit of a spat is going on. He has bigger fish to fry. He sees the bigger picture. He doesn't feel the need to jump in when situations would eventually sort themselves out.

I am not in the best position to say so much after what I said the other night, Grahame - and I apologize, sincerely!
But I will anyway. To me it seems like most people in fact moderated their own behaviour prior to the forum being so firmly moderated. All those conflicts are new, if I am not mistaken. Could it be that it rubs people the wrong way to be so heavily monitored? It is worth a thought, in my humble opinion. We are grown up people and the feeling of being almost disempowered and afraid of speaking your mind can be frustrating. It is to me anyway.

I'm sure you're right, Abs. It was unfair on Grahame, to be asked to watch over us. He's a good bloke, put in an impossible position. He has been asked to police us, when we can actually police ourselves. It didn't help that a bunch of trolls jumped in. Grahame and I will never agree, but I respect his integrity. It's a shame that we are so confrontational with each other.

I agree, mertol, but my point is, that when people get the feeling of being monitored and even restricted, they lose the desire to keep a decent tone. You can see it happening now. The atmosphere on this board was much better proior to the strict monitoring. I am not saying anything goes, just a little looser moderation. In my opinion, for what it´s worth - probably not much...
