Who keeps the same wallpaper for 25 years?  Strange folk!
"Simple country folk" is the usual phrase (I say that from having grown up in Somerset).

Not sure if it's still the case, but in the old days working farm houses were nothing more than practical. Once on the wall it would have taken a visit from the queen to warrant a refresh of the wallpaper  :D

Has any of the rooms being redecorated in the house or have they all been retained as close to how the house looked prior to the murder?

I would imagine some parts of the house would have been redecorated, but I think Hartley said the hallway has the same decor it had at the time.
