He regains consciousness, goes up stairs, is shot in the face then the shoulder and arm as he retreats to the kitchen, Sheila prods and whacks him until he trips over his own pyjamas and lands on the upturned chair/scuttle dying or dead, Sheila then puts four bullets into Nevills head who is now motionless!
How do you think he ended up on the chair/scuttle, Steve?
I think Jeremy placed him there as the ultimate act of humiliation, just as he took one last disdainful look at his mother and shot her right between the eyes. To tidy up the diablerie Daniel and Nicholas had to be dispatched, his only mistakes that evening being the two-shot kill to their mother and the silencer left wedged in a box between two shelves of the gun cupboard.
Crimes such as this do not occur in a vacuum, but were the result of years of pent up rage on how Jeremy perceived his parents had treated him. Not just in the workplace as paid manservant, but packing him off to Gresham's, the disappointment written all over Nevill's face when his son failed to achieve, the phenomenon of strain theory which Jeremy was burdened with, the threat of disinheritance unless he broke off with Suzette, the stress of which may have caused her miscarriages. The coup de grĂ¢ce was the television programme broadcast that very evening on the subject of miscarriages, and he sprung into action, resolving to start afresh in London, the boss, master of his own fate, the bloodied severance from his adoptive family necessary to restore his mental health leaving all trace of bad memories behind him.
