Wonder what Baird's brief is?  She can't possibly get on top of it all in 12 months?

I hope they prioritise those cases that involve people who are in prison over those seeking to clear their names when they have served their time. The next step would be to prioritise those with the longest  sentences. This in my view would be the best way to regain public trust and to see that justice is done whatever the outcome.

I would like to see a new structure where each case has a lead case officer and all case teams should be supervised once a month to explain the work which has been achieved and an agreed course of action to bring the investigation to a conclusion with key issues to be identified which remain unresolved. These blocking issues need to examined and a clear plan of action agreed.

It could be that the new head makes a statement by referring Bamber’s case to COA as an example Roch?  What better way to start.

If the CCRC do reject it,  how will it go down with his supporters and their interpretations of the new Chair of the CCRC be then,  obviously she might be tarnished like the others?

TBH Hardy, I think anyone faces an uphill struggle to get this case referred.I'd like to see her examine the issue with the case workers and scrutinize their work and opinions.

I agree Roch, to be honest if anything has been covered up it must be exposed and made an example of.

For me it depends on what the submission consists of. If its based on a time approximation in a note to imply Nevil rang the police and Sheila runs of blood being 28 fight wounds, then I won't criticise them at all for refusing it. I would put the blame entirely on the CT for that.

She'll miss those one or two days spent in the office every couple of months.  Now what to do about all the other WFH'ers scattered throughout the land?

And where is Bamber's long overdue submission folder, somewhere at the bottom of Birmingham's landfill waste heap?

I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and furballs.

Yes, if the latest is true.  Still to be verified - https://theupsetterstrikes.substack.com/p/bamboozled
