The military helicopter was carrying anti-terrorist personnel from Northern Ireland to a security conference in Scotland thirty-one years ago. All twenty-nine on board perished. Different explanations have been expounded for the cause of the crash.

Yes, it was the mist rolling in from the sea, to quote a famous Paul McCartney song. It was a terrible tragedy. An ex-helicopter pilot and member of the House of Lords in the video blames gross negligence on the part of the pilots. Others are not so sure, and point to a software failure which affected a test run in Wilmington, Delaware some years previously.
