Kristel Candelario - The ultimate act of betrayal:
« on: April 19, 2025, 04:59:PM »
Stumbled across this when on TikTok.

Warning for anyone not familiar. It is very upsetting. But am slowly watching videos.

Yesterday watched her police interview when she intially lied before confessing. CCTV was important but other factors had emerged.

The judges summimg up and sentancing was perfect.

Yes, it was. What a horrendous case. I thought initially she would have kept her daughter as a means to staying in the country, but as she already had another child Jailyn was surplus to requirements. I would only add some of those antidepressants do more harm than good. I've often thought that about the pharmaceutical industry. https://youtu.be/OMZhKcPJOas

Well done to the authorities for getting the truth on an unthinkable crime.

I'm reminded of the Caylee Anthony case.

This is the interview where she lies. Then confesses at 1 hour 15 minutes.

The interviewers are friendly to her. But understandably get upset after the confession.

The police needed help from other people.

A male friend approached the police and said her story that the grandparents were looking after Jaylin was false.

Candelario invented a baby sitter.

He also said he had met Candelario before without Jaylin, suggesting she had left her alone before.

Jaylin had survived previously but must have been terrified over when her next meal was going to be. She was never going to survive Candelario's last abandonment.

I do wonder why she didn't leave Jailyn with her grandparents?

They were in Ecuador. Only options were leave Jaylin with someone she trusted, take her or don't go.

Wondered why the police did not confront her with video footage of when she left. They only mentioned footage of when she arrived back.

Then realised it is doubtful they had the 'leaving' video footage yet as it was days earlier.

I seem to recall the grandparents were already settled in the USA. There's a bit more here: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/ohio-mother-death-toddler-left-alone-vacation-rcna144461

Her story was that Jaylin was already ill. Then died overnight after she got back.

Her friend said she should ring her parents but she did not.

He then rang the parents who said they had not been baby sitting.

He then approached the police. His police interview is also online.

The video footage of her arriving home from the abandonment was at 7.36am.

She said the footage was her arriving back from the chemist to get medicine. But could not remember which chemist was open at 7.36am.

She admitted she had left Jaylin at home alone when getting the medicine.

She could not explain why there was no video footage of her leaving to get medicine 15 minutes earlier.

It was only a matter of time before the video footage showed the devastating gap between her leaving & arriving back.

The footage was doorbell cam.

CCTV, doorbell cam, security cameras, car cams, Ulez. Can't move anywhere.

Was talking to a friend about what I would do if found 500k in a bag.

I would spend the day travelling around London via the London underground. Hope I can't be tracked.

I think they can track you with an Oystercard.

Yes Oyster or debit card. Maybe use both. Or buy tickets with cash.

Would also need to swap bags at some point. Change some clothing.

The underground can be very busy. Would try to disappear within the crowds.

The film Shallow Grave. Should have split the money 3 ways & then moved to seperate other properties. Quickly.

Always a chance some nasties will come for the money.

But that would have been a short film!
