Why no covert, did SJ miss a trick?
« on: April 16, 2025, 12:50:AM »
For me, If I had been SJ BM with the beauty of hindsight!! ( although may have amounted to nothing)

Julie approaches EP, confesses all about JB.

Stan " Julie ring JB, get talking about events " " we will record the conversation "

Julie rings Bamber on the normal pretext, discusses current events ( gets Bamber to make an admission on the phone that can be recorded)

Admission made, strong evidence.

That simple.

Did SJ miss a trick?

Adam says despite Bambers philandering and jilting of Julie they " left on good terms after he and BC helped her move " so with that in mind he may have talked freely.

Did SJ miss a trick?

I asked this very question back in 2016.

It never happened simply because there was nothing to record.

Stan Jones had seen the crime scene for himself and knew about the sound moderator. Even he could have worked out that what Julie was saying was a load of nonsense when he took her statement.

Is entrapment legal? They tried that with Colin Stagg. The case immediately got thrown out

May have been hard getting him to speak about it. It was a month later & he had moved on. To him he was watertight.

Julie had left him so he may have been more cautious about talking .

Didn't they get a serving female police officer to talk to Stagg to get him to disclose his sex fantasies?

I know in the Stephen Lawrence case they bugged a flat belonging to one of the suspects.

I thought wire tapping was inadmissible evidence under data protection legislation.

No GDPR back in 1985/6.

By the 8th September he may have realised the police were suspicious. Even if not aware Julie had approached them.

Julie had left him so it may have been hard for her to get him to speak about it.

Still inadmissible in court I would have thought. Have you been watching too many US detective shows?

Did SJ miss a trick?

If the police had even the slightest suspicion they would not need Julies help, they would have simply bugged Bamber's phone.

Sooner or latter he would have hanged himself.

Who would Bamber confess to on the phone?

He was rarely at GH after the massacre.

The only person he confessed to was Julie. She was with him from the 7th to the 27th. So he didn't need to phone her.

Did Bamber stay there at all?

Thought he just visited for a rumage.

If what Julie is saying is true her and Bamber parted company on " friendly terms" it's likely they'd still meet socially if not together. They'd be ample opportunity to do a bug.

The police could have kept it quiet once she went to them, and not arrested Bamber immediately and either put a recording device on Julie or bugged the maida Vale flat he was in. Julie could arrange to have lunch with Bamber and they could get a recorded confession or as said via a telephone call.

I think his primary base after the funerals was Shelias flat with Brett.
