She didn't claim he said that once he had committed the murders, only speculated to her the means of getting to White House Farm before the massacre.

Believe the trial was 6 weeks. The jury getting an accumulation of information on different issues which will influence there final decision.

Having such a remote route & available bike would have influenced the jury. The defence just saying it was possible to cycle it but there is no evidence he did was not a strong counter.

The judge brought up the bike in his summing up.

He said at trial he got the bike so she could use the gym and stuff and as you said made a prior reference to North Maldon growers.

Even if the bike was used in the crime his explination about getting the bike for Julie is probably a mundane true fact which he could use to his advantage whatever side of the fence you fall on. You can easily seperate the two.

Yes but what village hall. There was not many places that were cycling distance.

As said transport for a layperson in that type of village is not a massive issue.  I recently went to Spain a couple of weeks ago and left for Birmingham airport in my passat at 3am, and I live in sheffield in a built up area. Not a soul shout and certainly nobody window watching. As said he could walk car or bike the roads.

Car walk or bike was possible without a soul seeing him.

I don't buy at 2am the turning over of a Vauxhall Astra 1985 engine will rouse people out of their bed.

The easiest thing to do was to say a bike was brought over so Julie could go on country cycle rides while he was working.

People go for country walks or cycle rides all the time. Have a nice pic nic as well. It was the middle of summer.

However Jeremy has given more specific reasons at trial & since. Neither convincing.
