Sshhh, you don't want mitre- and vestment-makers to go out of business, do you?

Just ordered myself a dog collar.

And a lead for the missus to keep you in check?

I was wondering if she would like the Christening spoons for cutlery.

In 2024 how can anyone take a man seriously dressed in such attire:

His vestments don't bear any correlation to the subject of your thread. Do you want him attired in the Chelsea football kit? However, I agree the finery is unnecessary: https://www.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Luke%2012%3A27

The RC/AC in me adores the theatrics -a priest friend has magnificent robes befitting every 'occasion'. However, my nonconformist side thinks such is unnecessary expenditure in a world full of needy people.

Especially so in Africa where the most needy reside -

It grieves me when I receive the usual round robin Christmas appeals for aid to such countries when the Church hierarchy there -not forgetting numerous others in similar positions- are presenting themselves in such attire. The Church has to be one of the wealthiest institutions in the world, but putting funds into spreading "the word"/giving hope to half the Christian world is pretty useless when the other half is dying of hunger and neglect...................apologies for the lunchtime rant!!

If they were genuine, they would wear a hair shirt like Thomas More.

There's abuse in all denominations, sadly, combined with a cover-up culture. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/archbishop-of-york-must-resign-says-second-abuse-inquiry-leader/ar-AA1ujogo?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=8e7e11e29176452bbeb6806bf522c17a&ei=11

Probably because they have a warped view of sexuality.

Does this sort of abuse feature within humanism?
