Liam Payne, 1993-2024
« on: October 17, 2024, 07:01:PM »
He had talked about suicidal ideation in a recent podcast, which makes me think he had researched the subject or had been undergoing professional counselling to be familiar with that expression. It would be churlish not to acknowledge that he brought pleasure to his many fans, mainly teenage girls, to whom the boy band One Direction was marketed. One can hardly call a young man of 31 years of age who was worth £47 million a failure, though that may have been how he perceived himself, and there were undoubtedly some good facets to the character, but his latest song Teardrop was a flop, he had been sending threatening texts to ex-girlfriend Maya Henry, who had obtained a cease and desist notice against him, and it seemed his current lifestyle dependent on central nervous system stimulants to get through the week, despite having a 7-year-old son he shared with Cheryl, just wasn't enough for him.

From what I have read, he smashed up his hotel room. So loudly the hotel staff rang the police.

He then jumped off a third floor balcony. Or at the least put himself in a position where he fell off.

Must have been on a serious cocktail of drugs.

Other rock stars, there bodies usually give up on them. After years of self abuse.

Payne's body seemed to go into overdrive.

Payne's body seemed to go into overdrive.

He was only 31, so he had age on his side.

He may have got clean and shaped up. He may have continued spiraling we will never know either way.

RIP

Are we putting the cart before the horse so to speak though?

It would be a good idea to wait for the  toxicology reports.

The facts are he smashed up his hotel room. Then jumped/fell from his balcony.

So something in his system. A toxicology report will show what.

You can do that sober.

We've got no idea what was in his system or not until a toxicology test.

The latest TikTok video says he was trying to jump into the hotel swimming pool.

Thought he jumped from the front balcony where there was no pool.

I think he jumped into a courtyard at the back. Not sure if there was a pool in that location.

No surprise that a cocktail of drugs was found in his system. The mystery is why he took the latest setback so hard. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/reports-liam-payne-was-dropped-by-record-label-as-x-factor-co-star-hits-out-at-simon-cowell/ar-AA1svMkf?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=78f103068069479cacb8b687bd3fe06c&ei=15

No, especially when he's on this stuff: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/health/medical/what-is-the-recreational-drug-pink-cocaine/ar-AA1sJE1T?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=1bf56f1a18ba443ca15f41da884ea3e6&ei=15

My brother was a bad cocaine addict. Cost him a lot. I have been a social user in my younger years. Mugs game.

I'm not a fan of the manufactured boy band culture but Liam Payne's death was news. If the BBC can lead with the death of Ronnie Barker in 2005 they can report the tragic death of Liam Payne.

I recall quite clearly the night of the M40 Hagley minibus crash. It deserved to be the lead item on the 9 o'clock news. But BBC executives had preordained the Queen's Speech had to come first. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-24938407

In this context I think Michael Buerk is mistaken. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/travel/news/michael-buerk-slams-bbc-for-coverage-of-drugged-up-faded-boy-band-singer-liam-payne-in-radio-4-interview/ar-AA1sQu68?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=f9225921d03f429b979e40509153473e&ei=12
