I can remember back in the late 60s early 70s, my parents took myself and siblings to an open day at a large children's home in the Croydon area. At the end of the day there was some sort of school show/ play performed by the children.
It all seemed so innocent, I came away thinking they were well cared for.
It was probably all just to showcase how well it was run. Very sad & angry to now know what was really going on.
