Clean air zone
« on: August 06, 2024, 11:37:PM »
Absolute bollocks.

None of the revenue collected is to go towards maintaining cleaner air.

Cities polluted as it is. A bloke walking down the street puffing on a cigarette  is polluting the air much more than I am.

councils trying to reignite profit due to COVID But what's the legitimate research behind it?

A council money spinner. One case won three others in dispute.

Hopefully this ridiculous law is overturned in the future

I think they had one girl died from traffic fumes in London, which may have been the catalyst for the ULEZ expansion zone policy. But it does seem they have got the balance wrong.

I have paid the fines on some of the cases under duress on the basis I need my vans for work and I don't want my partner and children been alarmed by prospective bailiffs going to my house when I am out. From research I have seen people having vehicles clamped and ex amounts being added on.

If the costs were going to effective research and beneficial in regards to nitroxode then maybe it's warranted. But it's simply going to council coffers. Even if people are paying a day rate to drive there it's not eradicating the problem.
