Maybe he phoned Bamber off the bedroom phone.

Then during the onslaught in the kitchen he attempted to grab the phone to make a 999 call, but was prevented from doing so by Shelia.

Obviously the situation had gravitated somewhat by then.

Putting to one side that Sheila didn't know how to or had the capacity to load.

Agree with the prosecution that Sheila could load while everyone slept.

This gave her the chance to shoot June and Nevill 9 times in bed.

Agree with the prosecution Nevill would not start phoning Bamber's AM after being shot 4 times. Partly because he could not speak.

Agree with the prosecution that a fully fit Nevill with Sheila would not start ringing Bamber's AM.

He would instantly stop her loading and put the rifle away.

What is all this rubbish Adam? No one knows the sequence of events?

Sheila had plenty of time to prepare the rifle while everyone was upstairs asleep, for all we know she managed to load 8 bullets into the magazine went upstairs and shot the twins first. No one knows.

The evidence points to the twins being shot in one go, not one bullet each then more latter.

It's possible their hearts stopped with just the one bullet each, then Bamber returning to finish the job with the arc pattern. It would explain why none of the twins' blood was found in the silencer.

That's the Scott Lomax scenario. Rejected by myself, Ann Eaton and many others. It just wasn't in Nevill's DNA to succumb until his last breath.

That's a good point Steve.

Sheila did well, she left two bullets for herself and left an empty breech and empty Magazine. How did she know it would take a possible two shots at most, she had seen how many shots were needed for her Mum and Dad,  yet she got it spot on for herself?

Would you risk that rifle to kill yourself, not knowing if one shot would do it and could leave you in agony?  She wouldn't know if she would be capable of pulling the trigger a second time if the first shot didn't kill her?  Seems she worked out to the last Bullet what was needed.

Yes, another mistake from Bamber. He discharged a hail of bullets into others, loaded one, then had to load another to satisfy himself he had finally killed his sister.

I can never understand why he shot her twice.

She would have bled to death and time was on his side. With just shooting her once.

It must have been a knee jerk reaction from him.

If I put myself in his situation I would have immediately panicked having shot an intended suicide victim twice.

The trouble with Bamber, he had to move quick and get out/home to make the call, he had two choices leave her alive and hoped she died, or make sure himself, i suppose this goes back to what we discussed ILB with Neville, Sheila didn't have to make sure everyone was dead, Bamber did?  the Killer had seen it was taking a lot of shots to kill everyone, so he possibly thought that one shot wouldn't do it in the end?

What choice die he have?

He wanted it done with. What was he going to do? Make a cup of tea and watch her bleed to death?

I think it would have been a knee jerk reaction but there were few alternatives at the time.

I can understand his panic.

The bedroom phone was not there. It was moved to the kitchen after the cordless was taken for repairs.

Yes. It was a suicide victim. Shooting them twice is suspicious.

DS Jones thought so.

He had no time constraints. Even Adam admits this

Wonder how long she would have taken to die after that one shot.
