Thanks HB.
Do you see my concerns?
The police knew from day one about sights and a silencer, yet did not collect them from the farm.
Why?
Why leave them at the farm and hand the keys back to the relatives a week later and let 'them' hand then in?
I do see your concerns Snow, but look at it like this, Bamber is running through the events, he gets down to the rifle and loading bullets ETC, then he mentions going to shoot Rabbits, he’s asked if the silencer and sights were on the rifle when he goes to shoot Rabbits, mainly because Stan  doing the questioning and he knows there wasn’t any on?  It’s a routine question, because normally when your shoot rabbits, you usually have sights and silencer fitted?   At this stage they thought Sheila was the killer and didn’t think anything of the silencer, they just thought it wasn’t on the rifle when Sheila killed everyone.

We all know how bad the police operation was from day one Snow, they genuinely thought Sheila was the Killer, why look for a silencer, if it wasn’t on the Rifle when Bamber left it out and it wasn’t on the rifle when the police arrived?

Jeremy must have gone ape shit when he found out

Just to spark debate (I think). I doubt Jeremy knew but they weren't in touch then anyway.

I can't explain it any better Snow, if the Police assumed that Sheila had shot and killed everyone and then killed herself, why look for a silencer that hadn't been used,  they naturally thought a shot person would hardly shoot themselves dead and go and put a silencer away from the scene?   It wasn't just the silencer they left in the den, they also left other Weapons and ammunition,  why leave them?

The plan worked, the scene was set to make it look like the silencer wasn't used both beforehand when Bamber went to shoot rabbits and after when it was staged on Sheila, and the Police fell for it?

You can only blame the senior investigating Officer who read the Scene as Bamber intended for it to be read,  he read it that Sheila killed everyone and then killed herself.  Even the Judge said "the scene of crimes examination left a lot to be desired"   [perfuncory in other words] it was Completly lacking in care and thoroughness.

Stan and Taff, both visited Bamber on the 9th, it was just to go through his previous questioning, and that is probably where the silencer issue was brought up again,  but originally it was brought up with Bamber on the 7th,  if TAFF as you put it was suspicious of the silencer then,  he would have ordered someone to search for it?

Stan was handed the silencer because i think TAFF was away  [i think iv'e read he was on a course for a couple of days],  if TAFF wasn't away, it's likely he would have been handed the Silencer.

I couldn't believe how some posters fell for it,  even with NGB doubting it.

Who told Taff that there were sights and a silencer for the rifle?

More than likely Stan Jones,  because Bamber told Stan that the silencer and sights wasn't fitted and been removed,  mainly because they had to be removed from the rifle to fit inside the Gun cupboard.

They left shotguns there too - why? Because they though Sheila had shot herself with a rifle that was laying across her chest. Why then would they go looking for sights and a silencer - they thought she had killed herself and if she had killed herself how could she have used something that wasn't found right next to her body?

You and HB should listen to what Miller said on 'crimes that shook Britain' regarding the silencer Zoso!

Well the way he's talking you would think the police hardly knew sights and a silencer existed before the relatives found them, yet the police knew about the items from day one.
And JB certainly didn't try to hide the fact that sights and a silencer existed, yet Miller seems to say that it was through Ann Eatons knowledge of the farm that the items were found!
Items that everyone knew existed, including AE and DB,yet it seemed to be a great surprise finding them in the cupboard.
Where else would the sights and silencer be if the police didn't have them?

JB as good as spelled it out for them that Sheila was capable of violence to herself -indeed, he said she'd already tried. A lie, but Hey- so why would a silencer come into the equation? Pretty obvious she couldn't shoot herself with a silencer attached, wouldn't you think?

I wouldn't put much emphasis on what Miller, Bews and Stan Jones have said in the documentaries. I get the impression that none of documentary makes doing these interviews brought copies of their witness statements/police notes/transcripts and questioned them thoroughly.

Producers making a series just want to scratch the surface and go from one case/episode to the next (In my opinion)

I thought it was something special,  you don't know how much was cut from edits and all the guy is doing is giving a Synopsis of the events at WHF,  it was for TV thats all.
