I had my Blood Type A Secretor confirmed with a friend about 25 years ago. I didn't know I could have had a DNA profile done as well. It's a pity no firm in the UK offers the service.

During lock down, I subscribed to My Heritage DNA -because it was being offered at half price!- sent off my details and waited in eager anticipation. When the results came back, they informed me that my DNA is 49% Italian! The only feedback I've received since suggests potential links, mostly to Cypriots, with a smattering from USA, and one from New Zealand, all being named as being related to 3rd/4th cousins!! In the meantime, via a genealogist and FaceBook, I've located, and since met, a niece and nephew who  are the the offspring of my late sister who, sadly, I never got to meet.

My advice is, there maybe better, and more accurate, ways, than My Heritage, of tracking families!

Yes I have. I`ve done Ancestry, 23andMe, Uploaded to MyHeritage (they no longer allow this)

FTDNA, Living DNA and Gedmatch

I have only used one platform. Is it worth using multiple?

It depends on your interests I suppose. A lot of people only do it for ethnicity and then let their accounts lapse. I wouldn`t bother using multiple just for that reason.

I did it to see if I could find out the identity of my BF.
When looking for relatives it is suggested to `fish in all ponds` so that`s what I did.

The uploads are free to do so nothing to lose.

My sister uploaded her DNA to one of the Ancestry sites. She discovered that our grandmother (from our mother's side) had remarried and had 2 daughters. We knew she'd walked on our grandfather when she was young but never heard the full story.
So apparently, I have 2 half aunties I never knew about.

One has to be always prepared for surprises when taking a DNA test I`ve since learned.
