No. People have answer phones and switch them off when at home and retrieve messages when they return say from holiday. Things/life were/was not as fast paced in those days and I know that is how I and family and friends tended to use them. He could catch up on things when he was back at home for a meeting etc. He could switch back on at a time of his choosing

If you know my theory then your post was a stupid response because you had to have known there was other restaging and this points to even sillier behaviour or childish pointless points scoring.

You are trying to make it seem that this 'fitting up' behaviour was a daily occurrence. It was a feature that was more prevalent in the past and history shows this.
