Absolutely, also, my mum has dementia and for a while, they gave her that crap. It was over Christmas around 2016 - she was on a pretty low dose but just couldn't function. In the end, I stopped giving it to her and it took a couple of weeks for her movements to improve and she had only been on the stuff a few weeks. Her prescription was for tablets and no slow release so I would imagine they would leave the system quicker (although I am assuming).

Can I suggest that there is a difference between Dementia (you have my sympathy) and schizophrenia and although some medications can be used as a multi purpose treatment (amitriptyline). They are not always the right drug in all cases and dosage and method of delivery can also be a factor.

I know there is a difference - quite a big one. It wasn't the right drug but I have had first had experience of it's effects. And thanks but it's an ever increasing disease (sadly).

My father is currently in a home age 81 with vascular dementia

Thanks and likewise, my mother has the same form of dementia. She still has moments of clarity and remembers who I am, but she's not who she once was. That's the saddest thing - they kind of die as the person you knew.
