Has anybody got a picture of the latches on the window? Can I find them on here ?

Enclosed is a standard window latch. Once outside you cannot fully close the window. We all have these in our houses and we know this

For this particular latch you have to be in on the inside to secure it. You can close from the outside but not secure

Another latch, same principle can only be pushed from the outside. Gives an impression of a closed window. But not a secure one.

As we know Jeremy Bamber returned to WHF post massacre to get I believe his car documents for a trip to France. He entered via the window.

Again can only push the window to seem secure. The saying " banging a window and the catch will automatically shut is bollocks"

A simple picture of the type of catch will test that theory

This aspect has been well and truly debunked by the CT and I believe there is a full explanation on the JB OS, including pictures. I also believe that this forms one of the grounds for the latest CCRC submission (Issue 4). There is lots of stuff here but you will need to dig it out. David1819 maybe able to assist with the pictures.. The police took a picture from an angle to show it was locked but the CT have a different picture which shows this photo was misleading.

It was this window

Jeremy said you can use a thin metal blade to force open the window the catch. However BEFORE and AFTER the murders took place there were no scratch marks found on those windows. The scratch marks found on the 1st of October were put there on the 16th of September when Jeremy had no keys.

In a nutshell

Late July 1985- Windows freshly painted by decorator

August 6th/7th 1985 - The killings take place.

Late August 1985 - Police investigate windows for evidence of forced entry and find nothing.

Early September 1985 - Police re-investigate the windows after Julie "comes forward" and they find nothing.

Mid September 1985 - Jeremy needs documents from the office in order to go abroad and has no key, Enters via the downstairs bathroom window using a hack saw to unsecure the latch.

Late September 1985 - Police find the hacksaw and damaged window latch.

Trial 1986 - Prosecution use the hacksaw and window damage and argue Jeremy did that on the night of the murders (withholding the evidence that there was no damage to the windows or hacksaw prior to that mid september 1985)

Appeal 2002 - Defence obtain withheld police documents and new witness testimony confirming the evidence used to convince the jury that Jeremy entered the building was created in the month after the murders. And there was no evidence of forced entry prior to mid september 1985

Prosecution counter the claim by using Jeremy's words "Secure windows, insecure windows..it makes no difference."

If the window was found secure from the inside with the catch secure on the morning of August 7th 1985 then Jeremy Bamber is innocent.

This is in regards to the entry window (bathroom). Not the alleged exit window (Kitchen)

Bamber may have left the bathroom window ajar when at supper. Making entrance easier and quieter a few hours later.

If someone had shut the window, he would have forced it open. Which he said he knew how to do.

He exited the kitchen window. Banging it shut from outside so the top lock fell into place.

Multiple sources this could be done.

The house keeper said fixed items around the kitchen window had been moved overnight.

I don't agree with Guest29825 that the police moved these. He has the police moving 4 bullets upstairs!

Why would Jean Boutell be in WHF in the immediate aftermath given that it was a crime scene ?

I personally would like to see the inside of the kitchen window catch
