Julie getting a taxi would be easier for Bamber.

He would not have to waste time and money collecting & lumbering back the locked bike. Assuming it had not been stolen.

I have checked online. Seems to be taxi firms in the 7 areas listed.

Obviously Julie would have got a taxi. Meaning the OS reason for the bike arriving 2 days before the massacre is null and void.

Hopefully I will get some answers on this issue - why Julie would not get a taxi to the station.

At present all I have had is smiley faces from ILB.

It has been known for people to get taxis to stations. Done it myself a few times.

A taxi to the station would cost less than £5 in 1985.

They were not black taxi's!

Are you familiar with an inflation calculator?

Ok it's simple really taxis were available.

But that doesn't mean Jeremy Bamber isn't telling the truth about the reason he got the bicycle.

The OS says -

For Julie Mugford to use, so that she could cycle from Goldhanger to Toleshunt D'arcy.

----------

Will check the distance.

She would cycle leaving the bike at the red lion pub

And get the Osborne bus which is a direct route to Colchester.

Guessing Bamber was familiar with the landlord of the pub and had arranged this

It's not a farfetched reason.

And of course it would be stupid of me to argue about her getting taxis. Although of course they are more expensive

Seems like a 5-10 minute taxi ride. Along Maldon Road.

Hopefully Bamber was enough of a gentleman to pay the small fare.

It seems that Bamber had always driven Julie to Tolleshunt D'arcy.

There is no mention in either WS or the police interviews of Bamber not being available.

If there was an occasion when Bamber, Nevill or June could not drive Julie, then she got a taxi.

This is because the bike did not arrive until 2 days before the massacre.

So either Bamber, Nevill or June always drove Julie to Tolleshunt D'arcy.

Or Julie got a taxi if they were not available.

Makes me wonder why he suddenly decided a bike was needed.

Wonder what time Bamber actually finished work as a rule.

Julie's WS states that he often after finishing work would drive into London and spend the weekenights with her. Before getting up and driving back to tollshunt darcy to start work.

Giving that he worked 14 hour days and the travel to London. He would have had minimal time with Julie. He would have been shattered and gone straight to sleep.

Maybe his hours were much more flexible.

There is a source of Nevill struggling to " persuade Jeremy to work late "
