Possible reason why June was shot in multiple locations in bed:

June was shot 5 times in bed in 5 different locations.

The aim may have been to negate her but leave her with enough strenght to get out of bed & move around a bit before dying.

This means an adult is found out of bed supporting the Sheila gone crazy narrative. 

If this was the aim with June he was successful.

Going by the first 2 shots into Nevill he may have been trying to kill him in bed to negate such a strong man. If that was the aim he was unsuccessful due to Nevill waking while June was being shot.

The difference here is the phone call to Bamber would be from June.
