I wonder why the scratch marks were made underneath the Aga,,and not for all to see.? It looks like an afterthought to me,,,along with the planted silencer.Anything to get Jeremy convicted.
Whoever fiddled with the window catch also cut themselves because of the blood that was left behind on the sill,,,which was surreptatiously removed by AE.  If that had had anything to do with Jeremy,,it certainly wouldn't have been wiped away. Same blood on the silencer after handling.? Yes.!

Thanks, Maggie. :)

Steve, now that you are here and we are discussing the shootings, I would like to ask you a question. Why do you think that Jeremy, a somewhat experienced shooter, would have felt it neccessary to shoot his victims that many times? Three shots for a defenceless, sleeping six-year-old twin, five shots for the other? You would think that one or two tops would do it for a calculated murderer (as you prefer to make him out to be.)
June and Ralph received 15 shots between them - seems like a lot for pre-planned, "rational" murders.
I am interested in your take on that. Why did Jeremy feel the need for such "overkill"?
Well Jeremy had a plan in his mind, though with Nevill's intervention and the ensuing struggle it wasn't all executed as he had envisaged. Jeremy first shot the twins once each in the head, enough to kill probably and certainly enough for them not to wandering around the landing that morning. June was shot twice in bed, enough to incapacitate her and keep her in her bed for the time being and Nevill was shot once in the head. He couldn't be killed outright because it was necessary for him to have been able to make a telephone call in the kitchen. Nevill must have realized what was happening and though he couldn't escape he left traces of his fingerprints on the blue and white chequered worktop and may have been able to hide his watch under the rug as a signal of his presence(had rumours reached him of the stolen watches in New Zealand which Jeremy may have brandished before his eyes?). We know about the first five bullets because they had different markings than the Eley ammunition which Nevill had bought some months before.

Jeremy may have lost his temper after the struggle with Nevill, the rifle stock got broken(it was nigh on impossible for Sheila to have reloaded the weapon as that particular one was stiff and broke a nail of Malcolm Fletcher when he demonstrated it in court),or he may have wanted to make it look like Sheila had done it,or maybe just wanted them all to be dead, but he shot Nevill after death a further four times, proceeded upstairs where he shot June vindictively between the eyes, then finished off the twins in a further frenzy,to ensure that he was the sole survivor that night. He then knocked on Sheila's door, entered quickly and told her to come to the master bedroom(he may have told her there was an intruder in the house, but nothing to worry about),shot her unawares as she entered, realized he had messed up and finished her off with a further shot which killed her outright.

Well Jeremy had a plan in his mind, though with Nevill's intervention and the ensuing struggle it didn't all go to plan. Jeremy first shot the twins once each in the head, enough to kill probably and certainly enough for them not to wandering around the landing that morning. Jeremy may have lost his temper after the struggle with Nevill, the rifle stock got broken(it was near on impossible for Sheila to have reloaded the weapon as that particular one was stiff and broke a nail of Malcolm Fletcher when he demonstrated it in court),or he may have wanted to make it look like Sheila had done it,or maybe just wanted them all to be dead, but he shot Nevill after death a further four times, proceeded upstairs where he shot June vindictively between the eyes, then finished off the twins in a further frenzy,to ensure that he was the sole survivor that night. But this was Jeremy's case, that Sheila had picked up a gun on impulse and killed them all, despite her having to reload and not being connected forensically with it at all,let alone able to aim for Nevill's head with her coordination issues. Jeremy must have known that it was only the .22 anschutz in the equation, and he wanted it that way so Sheila could be blamed at an early stage,it gave a pretext for the telephone call and no in-depth discussions post-murders entered into. Of course we know now that he almost succeeded,or did for 33 days.

OH DEAR!!!! I rather think our lovely Steve has been at magic mushrooms or whatever the new favourite is for providing silly thoughts. Thanks Steve, I'm having a REALLY bad day and I needed something to cheer me up and make me smile.

So according to you, Jeremy went from a frenzied rage to a calm, calculating state of mind within seconds - even to the point of making sure the Bible he placed on Sheila was open at the "right" verses.
This doesn´t ring even closely probable. And oh, so convenient that Sheila just let herself be shot without the slightest struggle.
I like the little detail about Jeremy politely knocking on her door after his frenzy.  :P

Alias, I was rather drawn to that Jeremy "may have lost his temper......" Given that it seems to take professional pugilists some time to psych themselves up for action with one other person, one wonders just how long it would take a rank amateur to psych himself up to murder 5 persons.

Imagine being accused of being bisexual,,and also that being used against you in court.
JM was in a bad way,,wasn't she.?
More fool everyone for listening to her.
Once S.Jones had given her the go-ahead,,,after making her immune from prosecution,,,,there was no stopping her.The lies just rolled off her tongue.. One thing that she didn't,or couldn't say,,was that Jeremy wasn't responsible for the murders. That was left to Stan Jones,,,the voice of authority.!

And how VERY unnecessary, unasked for, but immaculately suggestive of her to drop into her statement that some of her friends had registered surprise that Jeremy hadn't asked her for anal sex.

All very interesting. I fine example of the rubbish some can dream up if they just let their imaginations run riot. ;D

Yes,,that wouldn't surprise me either,April. What a bitter and twisted woman.Jeremy was well rid before it got to the marriage stakes,,though sadly for Jeremy,,she even had the last say there.
