It might not, but a transistor radio would.

How silly of the Police and Prosecution to have overlooked that!

Must be because there was no evidence for it, or some other reason rendering it irrelevant/impossible.

"Suffice it to say that we are not concerned here with suspicion, however grave, or with theories, however ingenious..."

R v Wallace 23 Cr App R 32

The Presumption of Innocence has been an Englishman's birthright for centuries and now belongs to everyone in the world. Theories or suspicion don't cut it, to displace that, I'm glad to say.

"Everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defense."
Universal Declaration of Human Rights [1948], Article 11

Sure, Let's...

The innocent guy had his wrongful conviction quashed and lived happily ever after with the daughter of the victims, who campaigned incessantly for his innocence.

They continue to demand the Police pursue the true murderer. The Police re-opened the "unsolved case" [their words] more than a decade ago.

Please get over it...

But he insisted that he had spoken to the lift engineers. Anybody could make up a story that one of them was crouching down. It's typical of this kind of person that they think they are special, better than other folks, out of the ordinary, when in fact Jones was earning well below his potential.

Follow the money trail and you won't go far wrong.
This was Cheryl and Jonathan's previous home, which had been repossessed by the building society in April 1990. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/74+Oakdene+Rd,+Orpington+BR5+2AN/@51.38745,0.0983469,3a,75y,33.45h,90t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sLgTuTU-1WcsCkhyK3xwF1Q!2e0!7i16384!8i8192!4m5!3m4!1s0x47d8ac80c79b1737:0x9be3e67d90f6c6db!8m2!3d51.3875695!4d0.0984746

Well I could quite easily say she's been sleeping with the murderer of her parents for thirty years. Allegedly.

This to my mind suggests a preoccupation with property, which maybe became an obsession. He's a bit of a loner, likes a drink, given to coarse language at times, maybe feels he's falling behind in the rat race.

One hasn't heard much about Jonathan's parents. It seems he was unable to rely on the bank of mum and dad.

..though he does have the unstinting support of his girlfriend, Cheryl, the one constant in his life.

You could quite easily.... behind a moniker on an internet forum.

Say it again under your real name, why don't you?

And there's no "Allegedly."

Jones's wrongful conviction was quashed and the Police are now looking for the true culprit.

I'll keep my anonymity thank you. As long as I say "allegedly" nobody can sue. Police haven't found the true culprit, have they?

Given the above fact, does a diabolical plan begin to crystallize in his mind?

I'd do a crash-course in civil law, before you even start to get to grips with criminal law.

Wallace turned a nice profit in defamation damages after his conviction was quashed in 1931. It would have been more, had he lived longer...

I'd like to hear some of the reasons you maintain his innocence-Jones I mean, not Wallace, who was as guilty as hell.
