The Log Burner
« on: January 22, 2022, 11:25:AM »
Many neighbours confirmed the Mitchells had a log burner and used it regularly.  Can't see anything significiant in this.  Had it been purchased after Jodie set out to meet Luke then yes this would be suspicious but it wasn't so why is it deemed suspicious?

I have a log burner, which I refer to as a firepit, and use it all year round to keep warm at night whilst sipping a beer and stargazing.   :)

It's deemed suspicious because a neighbour noted an unusual smell emanating from that contraption on the evening in question, the allegation being that the mother was destroying forensic evidence linked to the crime.

Yes but people always note things of suspicion after the event.  Did the neighbours go to the police immediately with their suspicions?  If not why not?  And if they did what forensic evidence, burned or otherwise, was recovered?

Different types of wood give off different smells.  Also dependent on how much sap/moisture the wood holds which also determines how much smoke is emitted.

I believe the unusual smell came to light after police conducted house-to-house enquiries.
